It's a very odd situation, where the many are forced to shut up and accept the narrative guided by the few.

 

Divide and conquer is one of the oldest tricks in the book, so it's amazing how many people continue to fall for it.

That's the key bit.

 

They are forced as any dissension from the narrative then they are likely to face sanctions such as losing their job, demotion or cancelling .

The Key seems to be that the many have something to lose while the few have everything to gain. When I was still working I felt huge pressure to be circumspect about things like social media. Now other than staying out of prison, I couldn’t give a monkey’s cuss.
