Sunderland Offer EIGHT Mil for Gordon.

Recommended Posts

Sunderland have reportedly made an offer totalling £8million for Hearts goalkeeper Craig Gordon.

Black Cats boss Roy Keane has been consistently linked with the Scotland number one throughout the summer as he attempts to build a side capable of surviving in the Premier League after winning promotion last season.

Hearts assistant boss Stephen Frail previously valued Gordon at £10million, but Sunderland are hoping to tempt Hearts into selling their top asset for £5million with an additional £3million in add-ons which would make him the most expensive goalkeeper in British history, according to the Edinburgh Evening News.

Gordon, 24, claims he is not letting the transfer speculation affect him as he prepares for the club's pre-season tour of Germany.

He told the newspaper: "It's not something I can think about at the moment. The club haven't accepted a bid from anyone so until they do I'll just continue doing what I'm doing here.

"If that changes then we'll see what happens but for me nothing has changed. It's business as usual until I'm told someone has made a bid that the club consider acceptable."

If they knock that back ill be surprised.

they never offered 8. They offered 5 plus 3 in various add ons

It's still too much and Hearts are absolutely off their heads for not accepting it. I hope CG stays til the end of his contract and Hearts get fcuk all for him

Seems Sunderland are falling into the same old trap all the newly promoted teams fall into - pay big bucks for mediocre players, get relegated and have to sell them on for less than they paid for them.

They've agreed a fee of £5M for Cardiff striker Michael Chopra. No way is he worth that!

FIVE MILLION for Chopra. They have got to be having a laugh. You betting guys should get down to the bookies and bet on them finishing bottom of the prem next year. What's next a 2 mill bid for Steven Thompson:fish:

Hopefully a £2M bid for Libor Sionko.

I'd bet on them going down if it wasn't for their Keane, he's a superb manager.

I thought Sunderlands problem in previous seasons in the prem (along with Watford) is that they come up with record points totals, but then don't spend any of their cash and end up being humiliated in relegation.

I think this year may be different as their not hoarding their windfall but spending some of it and making a real effort of staying up.
