The goal should 100% have stood. I remember Thierry Henry scoring one exactly the same years ago and it was allowed. When you get a free kick in your own half for offside or something you dont have to wait for a whistle to take it. Brighton stats though are unbelievable. 65 attempts on goal in their last 3 games but have only scored once. That includes the 2 missed pens yesterday - that cost them the game not the bizarre free kick. West Ham were very impressive at City and could easily have got a point. They gifted City the second goal. As soon as they played a bad pass across field and put Coufal in a bad position I knew it would be costly - He gave a free kick away, City get a corner and score. Yet Diop should have snatched a point in the last few seconds. Hammers have nobody to fear playing like that. Lingard has been outstanding and was MOTM. Good win for Villa, I didnt see that coming.
