Are they world class central defenders? No but on the whole I think they both do a pretty good job. Are they the best pairing we have at the moment? Probably.

He must be lacking something because when both are fit, SG seems to go for Balogun.

I'm just thinking when Balogun was picked then got injured in the warm-up recently; that suggested to me that B. was his first choice. We won't know his preference for sure till one or the other gets a run of games.

No, it doesnt suggest Balogun is first choice - and SG highlighted that in a presser - Helander had played for Sweden in an international that same midweek which was why Balogun was preferred - SG was even at pains to say ,and I quote.... "this doesnt mean Fil has been dropped"
