Kamara encapsulates the benefits that stats can bring to player recruitment.

He was not a player that stood out in a poor Dundee side, and they actually didn't play him that much, from what I remember, simply because he didn't suit what they wanted.

Yet, the stat trackers were always singing his praises: he was consistently top of the league when it came to some stats (not all), like passing, key passes, interceptions etc.

It was clear that there was a player there, if only someone could utilise his skill set.

As with nearly everyone else, the 2 main candidates were Kamara & Barasic. However, I would make mention of our 2 CB's Goldson & Balagon. Without their contribution the result may have been in question! Barasic's delivery for the goal was a thing of beauty and his forward play and crossing excelled but he was caught out of position several times defensively. I go for Kamara, he was the one midfielder who kept possession and drove forward more in second half. A great midfield display.

As a fellow stat fan, couldn’t agree more. However he was a stick on starter for Dundee aside from injury and the run up to signing us when everyone knew he was leaving. But a lot of their fans had been critical of his performance in the season we signed him. This was under McIntyre who I don’t think played the way McCann did.

Was he? I must be misremembering the injury, then?

I could have sworn he was not quite in favour. Maybe not.

My point still stands! :D

He might turn out to be our best investment in a long time maybe playing with better players is bringing him out to be a very good player
