Doubt about what? That the US is a neigbourhood bully? Biden and Trump are cut from the same cloth, so they will wait in vain to see if Biden reverses Trump's policy.

lol.  What utter nonsense

Then let me clarify. Attempts are underway from the US to undermine and destabilise the Cuban Revolution so that the country is once again turned into a playground for rich Americans, as it was in the days of the hated Batista. Recently the Mayor of Miami (what does it have to do with him?) called for Biden to invoke the Monroe Doctrine. My point is that Biden will do little to reverse the sanctions policy ramped up by Trump so in that sense they are indeed cut from the same cloth. I'm not an unconditional supporter of Cuba but believe the gains of the revolution should be protected.

With regard to policy over Cuba sanctions, yes absolutely. Biden merely pretends to adopt a progressive agenda. Matter of style not substance.

Pure speculation. You have no basis for that statement.

Cuban Revolution ?  The one that was started 50 plus years ago ?  I guess Castro wasn't that good at governing then.  Castro isn't much better liked that Batista - and if you think he is then you don't understand freedom of speech suppression in Cuba.

What does it have to do with the Mayor of Miami ?  Perhaps the fact that he has a very large number of constituents that hail from Cuba.  Those constituents more than likely still have family in Cuba.

You aren't clarifying much at all - when you threw out "Biden and Trump are cut from the same cloth" was the time to clarify, not after you had been called out on the fact they are far from similar.  I actually think you knew what you were doing.  You made a blanket statement which doesn't stand up to scrutiny.

"The gains of the revolution should be protected" ?  lol.  What gains ?  The food shortages, the medicine shortages, the vaccine shortages ?  Those gains ?  Lol.  Deary me.

No, no, no...the country has/had economic problems like capitalist countries, but the latter haven't had to contend with sanctions imposed for idealogical reasons. Similar to the fledgling Soviet revolution - if 21 armies are threatening to invade you it does kind of tend to derail your plans a bit.

I have little sympathy for wealthy Cubans who fled to Miami and then start to foment unrest in the country from which they fled.

And I haven't been 'called out' by anyone: Biden and Trump are both stern defendants of the free market; their differences over such as identity politics are immaterial as far as I am concerned.

I think there is still a broad base of support for the revolution, though as I have said, it is far from a perfect state; in fact no socialist state can prosper unaided. Should the counter-revolution succeed, then there is no reason to suppose the suffering populace will be any better off - more likely to be similar to Haiti for example.

What you highlighted in bold are conditions also suffered in the West and were exacerbated by the pandemic.

I don't think the US President will be able to do a huge amount to change their foreign policy.

Most Americans seem to get more upset about a daft Tweet than innocent foreign civilians dying anyway.

Why is it still called a revolution after60 years? Surely the Castro dictatorship is the established order in Cuba and any "revolution" would see the entire regime swept away. If there are still Cuban revolutionaries then they're sitting in Miami.
