Mrs 7 knows a teacher who while on a personal level is not exactly clamouring to get back to normal, recognises that the present situation is disastrous for children’s education and in-school teaching should resume quickly. She reckons the problem in England is caused by the Union and not by the rank and file. As usual the self opinionated blowhards dominate the mass.

@alexscottislegendis an educationalist. What’s the story in England, asil?

Both the school and higher Ed. unions are opposing swift returns as children are super-spreaders. Teachers are co-operating fully with in-person teaching for key workers. Latest is that schools are going back after half-term on March 8th.

i think that's dubious. our boy caught it at school.

We all had to self isolate and even if we had symptoms we wouldn't have been tested. So no matter what happened he gave it to no one.

Not sure if that is standard or an attempt to fudge the figures but it certainly doesn't lead to good data.

Our daughter and a few of her friends caught it at school. Hospital's and schools are still the most likely places to become infected.
