I wonder if the purchase of these centre halves has anything to do with the new quarantine measures we now have because it looks like everyone travelling abroad will have to quarantine when they return and I don't think there will be any exemptions

if that is the case we are out of europe.

I assume this means Lewis Mayo isn't in the manager's first team plans either. Isn't Leon King a centre-half? He's only 17 but aren't great things expected of him?

Surely we're buying another centre-half, wide player and midfielder in the knowledge that any decent offer received this summer can't be turned down. If English sides aren't looking at Goldson and Helander I'll be astonished, Kent and Kamara must be on the radar's of many clubs as are Morelos and probably Roofe. I still think it's our full backs who are most coveted though.

The directors deserve a lot of credit for keeping the squad together this January, indeed we've probably strengthened it which is remarkable.

Leon King has played CB but is more of a right sided player - he actually started at RB with the club.

Really unfair on Defoe and I can’t quite get my head around it. Surely with the people leaving we have enough room for a quality striker who is unlike our other options there and whose experience could be useful should we get a few games in the comp.

It will be to do with home grown player limits etc.

Wasn't even on the bench last night. Perhaps there is an issue perhaps he is just getting older and moving more into coaching.

Certainly his impact this season has been minimal for whatever reason.

Defoe is currently injured.

In terms of the Euro squad, we have Morelos, Roofe and Itten that, rightly or wrongly, are ahead of him so we need to balance out the rest of the players picked, especially give we struggle to satisfy the homegrown/club-trained numbers.

EDIT:

Rangers are monitoring the progress of Israel's Player of the Month, Maccabi Haifa midfielder, Dolev Haziza, according to reports in the country.

The Ibrox side have reportedly registered an interest in the 25-year-old, who has been enjoying a fine season in his homeland and has less than 18 months to go on his contract.

Haziza signed for Maccabi Haifa last year and has hugely impressed this season, culminating in him being named Player of the Month for January.

TM says ... mostly right-winger (and we do like to player wingers these days) this season, 7 goals and 5 assists in 23 games this season.

Has played a lot as left-winger and attacking midfielder too, TM full stats here.
