We will drop points in the season, however there is no excuse for lack of effort and that is what it looks like. We just need to get the finger out and up the tempo, it's the same every time we are not on it, it's because the tempo is low.

Once again we seem to think walking football will work when we clearly need some pace into the game.

 

We have had some decent bits of play after the opening goal but our final ball from wide areas has been appalling and/or we're not getting Hagi or Aribo into the box to help Morelos so Motherwell easily defend them.

 

Early on it was too easy for Watt to pull Goldson into wide areas and it was that tactic that led to goal as various players fell asleep.

 

Not good enough and the players have to realise that this league is far from a foregone conclusion...

Our 3 men behind Morelos are not really clicking, and this isn`t helped when they are constantly near the halfway line or with the back to their goal. Getting and distributing the ball is Kamara`s, Davis` and Goldson`s job. Likewise, they are always interchanging, which is fine when it works, but if it doesn`t, we should stop it. Perhaps this is Itten time.

 

BTW, watching the goal again, it is once more woeful defending from those charged to take care of runners. Far too simple.

Their keeper hasn't had a save to make and we're overplaying far too much at times.

 

Confident we'll at least grab an equaliser but we need to make better use of the ball and move it a lot quicker.  Tav and Barisic are getting a lot of space but are taking two or three touches before delivering which isn't helping.  

 

I'd like to see Itten before long as if 'Well sit deep we need more bodies alongside Morelos.  Hagi needs to work on his first touch, Kent needs to improve his decisions and we need Kamara to be switched on a lot more.

It’s half times like this when you need a Jock Wallace to address the team and a first aid squad to patch them up for the second half. We’re not losing because we’re not good enough. We’re losing because our attitude is rank rotten.
