Think it was 1978/1979 season. Harris coming to end of his career and Souness just before his prime. Pitch was terrible as well. IIRC Chelsea's 1 sub that day was a player they signed form East Stirlingshire - changed days 😀

Was that Eamon Bannon? I seem to remember him joining around then. Chelsea had a few Scottish players down the years, Britton, Hay, McCreadie, Nevin, Durie, Spencer, Johnstone (my profile pic) and nutter Rougvie, but the best of all was Charlie Cooke, wing wizard.

Ron Harris a proper defender unlike the pansy boys I see flouncing about the pitches these day’s.

I remember a clip of Chopper kicking Eddie Gray up in the air then starting a fight with Billy Bremner all in the space of 2 mins :)

The late Peter Osgood told a story about when Chelsea were playing Liverpool at Anfield and Ron Harris hammered Emlyn Hughes with a ferocious 'tackle'. Tommy Smith ran up to Harris with the whole crowd thinking he was warning him to behave himself or else. Instead, he said "I could get to like you Harris".  Smith and Hughes detested each other.
