Midfield makes sense, Jack is unlucky but SG may well want to be able to bring on a strong sub in that area if/when needed (no Zungu). Kent absence makes me wonder if 4-4-2 is an option.

yeah i think we might have gone 4-4-2 for tactical reasons. 

 

Though i don'r think Gerrard has ever changed formation before.

One thing for sure is he has made a bold selection, they obviously have their game plan, if it works great move, if it fails ''why the f**k did he not play Jack? ?

Not gambling with his favourite players makes it sound like SG thinks this won’t be too difficult. Interesting.

I didn’t get that from it. I think it’s just that they aren’t players you want to gamble with when we have able replacements.
