An SNP spokesperson, one of the few not up on a charge, offered:

'It might have touched upon illegality, but, really, the weather was lovely, and there was not a Union Flag to be seen.'

 

 

Actually, there is no doubt that Poileas Alba would have swiftly swooped and broken up the gathering, if any hardy sons had arrived bearing an Ulster flag, or two.
