Rangers Post-split Fixtures

Recommended Posts

Seems daft to have 3 games in 38 days, (4th Apr - 11th May) then 2 games in 4 days (12th May - 15th May)

Unless of course there are Scottish Cup games to be shoe-horned in there somewhere.

An attractive set of league fixtures but I’m glad there’s nothing at stake except reputation, prestige and terrifying the opposition for next season.

That last bit’s quite important. So nerves and anxiety for 5x90 minutes as usual.

I'm not in the least interested in going unbeaten in the league season - good if we do but less important than finding out whether certain fringe players want to claim a place or need to be moved on because we will need space to improve this squad. The Scottish Cup is serious business, otherwise we should and will be focussing on next year.

A third trip to the worst pitch in football beckons.

Worth noting we are 20 points clear despite having played the next 4 best teams in the league twice away and only once at home, with the opposite of course true for the deposed 8.5 times champions. All randomly done of course.

Any organization that cant get things like this right is a farce. Its been going on for years. 3 away trips to one team!! Why cant they just honour what is supposed to happen and make it 2 homes and 2 aways. If that means 4 homes and 1 away in the split then so be it - it evens everything over a season. There is no advantage.
