I’ve never understood the notion that Everton is a “big” club. By what measure?

Currently dormant but fourth in the list of English League Champions after United, Liverpool and Arsenal, with nine wins well ahead of upstart Chelsea and ‘Spurs and in the city of Liverpool at least as many followers as Liverpool.

Never won the league in the guise of the EPL but if you were a Sheik with cash and a long view, you’d be looking at Everton before Leicester or Leeds.

Ancelotti gone, who gets the Goodison gig?

The likes of Dyche would be a step back for Everton but Ancelotti was probably too big a step forward for the level they were at. I’d be trying to get Bielsa.

Big Dunc.

Dyche is a good shout though - Id like to see that.

The Romans used to rule the known world but, like Everton, you wouldn’t describe them as a big deal now. Any claim to fame at Everton is a distant and largely irrelevant memory. Today it’s no more a “big club” than Wolves or Newcastle or Leicester.

If UEFA had any balls or integrity they would ban all involved for three seasons

Steady on Compo. Then the clubs may as well break away and do something different for 3 years and it may prove more successful than UEFA

I remember going to see Rangers at Goodison in the late 90s and it's the most bother I've ever seen outside a ground.

Closely followed by Sunderland and Shelbourne at Prenton Park ?

PSG and Feyenoord away were also a bit "hairy"
