Gerrard and the European Super League

Recommended Posts

If Liverpool join the proposed Super League but this results in a boycott by the overwhelming majority of Liverpool fans how would this affect Steven Gerrard’s desire to manage the club? It seems to have the potential to set up a tremendous conflict.

At the end of the day money talks and some of the numbers mentioned in this new set up is mind boggling

I think the Super League is a far better business model for its member clubs. For the rest it probably condemns them to second and third tier football in perpetuity.

In the Far East, people wear Man Utd or Barcelona shirts because they believe their local teams are worthless. It seems to me inevitable that that's where we're heading now. Give it 20 years and the unchallengeable power of these to clubs will suck the life out of not only the European arena but will probably go on to shape the structure of the game across the world.

If that is what the filthy rich owners of these clubs want. so be it,but they must be banned from their relative associations and from other tournaments.

Fans can then make their own choice of whether they wish to follow their team in a "closed shop" and players have a good look at their contracts regards whether or not they can be made to play in this, especially those who play for their national sides if that is likely to be affected by EUFA/FIFA bans.

I for one would realistically look at stopping going to football if my team were to be involved.

directors of these clubs have legal duty's to shareholders not fans unfortunately.

anther good reason for fans to own as many shares a humanly possible for me.

I see even the Prime Minister seems to be endorsing the German model of 51% fan ownership. It's maybe the only hope.
