A freedom of information request would show whether there were any arrests et al for the behaviour in question, anti-Irish or -Catholic and if the police or SNP fail to provide significant evidence in all of this, then there may be an opportunity to lawfully discredit the SNP government on the matter.

Not wrong at all. Comparing the correspondence sent re violence on either side would make - I was about to say interesting but - predictable reading.

BBC report on the changes in Scottish football since 1998.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-57439470

"In some quarters the shameful shadow of violence and sectarianism remains, as demonstrated by last month's violent, anti-Irish, anti-Catholic disorder by a minority of Rangers fans celebrating their team's league title in Glasgow's George Square.".

They're still upset and publishing this sort of agenda driven nonsense with no challenge.

I noticed that and thought  in the context of the article it was totally unnecessary and irrelevant; while I agree that the flouting of social distancing was not a good look I could hear nothing of a sectarian nature or anti-Irish chants. Maybe people listen for what they want to hear.

The article seems to base this paragraph on comments from the likes of Humza and Dornan, with no opposing viewpoint taken into account.

Poor show from the publicly funded broadcaster, yet again.

The Times, formerly a newspaper of record, presents us with this sublime attempt at subliminal influencing

This is almost beyond comment; it is certainly beyond contempt.

Ten Ajax fans who allegedly ran riot in Glasgow before a Celtic match six years ago have avoided conviction in the Netherlands.

Supporters and publicans were beaten by visiting fans in attacks on Celtic bars in the east end of Glasgow before a European match with Ajax in November 2015. One bar owner described it as “violence on an industrial scale”.

The Crown Office in Edinburgh gave up on prosecuting the gang here, deciding that by passing the case to prosecutors in Amsterdam they believed they had a greater chance of convictions.

However, when proceedings opened, the Dutch prosecutor said he was not convinced by evidence provided by three Police Scotland officers against ten of the accused. No Scots officers travelled for the trial but three went to Amsterdam in January 2020 to present evidence to an examining magistrate.

However, Dutch prosecutors say that when this was laid before the court, the prosecutor considered it did not provide “sufficient evidence” to support a conviction. Police Scotland could not show to his satisfaction how they recognised ten of the suspects.

However, convictions have been sought against five individuals for “public violence against persons and goods” and they are expected to be sentenced in August. Prison terms of between six months and a year have been requested for these individuals, according to the Netherlands Public Prosecution Service.

Police Scotland was asked about the critical comments from the prosecutor. A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Following an extensive investigation into incidents from 26 November 2015, a report was passed to the Crown Office Procurator Fiscal Service. As this case is still ongoing, we can’t comment further.”

I'm quite happy to be associated with the Ajax fans in this instance.  Not often holidaymakers get involved in clean up operations of this magnitude and let's be honest, the Gallowgate needed sprucing up.

Scottish nationalism, BLM, the Catholic Church, Islamism, immoderate socialism. They all share the same existential dependence on establishing and maintaining calculated points of grievance. Whether real or imagined, the message and it’s appointed target must be repeated religiously and the media is the vehicle. It’s why it’s so essential that kneeling continues, why the victimhood of Irish Catholics must be fostered at every turn. That Rangers sits at the centre of a community that’s largely intolerant of several of these cults makes us more of a necessary target than almost any other group.
