If you give that squad to a Guardiola, Klopp or Tuchel, then they'd be in with a shout.

With Southgate...

Its a good point. If you even gave it to Harry Redknapp a few years ago he would play great football. But you are right Southgate has his favourites, Im just surprised he didnt stick with Eric Dier as he seemed to love him.

They have to start Foden, Mount and Grealish together.

'Scotland can win the Euros!'

Scottish FA Chief Executive Ian Maxwell believes Scotland can win the European Championship, but says Steve Clarke's first target will be to progress past the group stages.

It's just cringeworthy. An embarrassment that's entirely in line with just about everything else in this sad little country. I still don't understand how anyone with a modicum of intelligence could have appointed a third rate nobody like Maxwell to a position of authority.

Well, according to BBC Scotland's Irishman English:

"It was Lawwell's influence that helped put Ian Maxwell in his role as as chief executive of the Scottish FA and it's been Lawwell's support that's helped Neil Doncaster in his role as chief executive of the SPFL."

I think that offers some, ahem, clarification.

The Beatles have split up.
