European Championship 2020 (2021)

I don’t blame O’Donnell for being O’Donnell but you have to question Clarke’s judgement in selecting someone who’s so clearly out of his depth. We need a minor miracle here.

It’s interesting how Scottish football commentators have developed their own unique style. This seems to comprise partitioning every sentence into several chunks, each left hanging over an inexplicable hesitation. No one  is more expert at this staccato delivery that the great Rob McLean.

The conceded goal is preventable.

Three minutes to half-time and the Czech's win three corners in ninety seconds. The Czech's scored 11 goals in qualifying, seven from set pieces. Each corner is hit deep, bounces beyond the eighteen yard line. On every occasion there is a waiting Czech player to retain possession. There is also a primed overlap waiting. Thus, three corners awards the Czechs six crosses into our box. So often, football is reduced to the law of averages; keep putting it in there, you'll be rewarded.

On the third corner, on the cusp of the sixth ball into the mix in such a short time period; why are we continuing to send one player out(Stephen O'Donnell) to prevent the cross?
