Here is how it is guaranteed to play out:

1. S.N.P. campaigns for independence.

2. S.N.P. campaigns for N.A.T.O. membership.

3. S.N.P. campaigns against nuclear weapons/trident.

4. Scotland becomes independent.

5. Scotland joins the E.U. as a vassal state.

6. Scotland joins N.A.T.O. as a vassal state.

7. Our masters in the U.S.A. tell us to host nuclear weapons/trident submarines.

8. Scottish government agrees like good little vassals.

9. Everyone in Scotland memory holes opposition to nuclear weapons/trident in favour of some fairy story about Assad/Putin/[insert unknowable bad man].

10. 2 percent of Scotch G.D.P. sent to N.A.T.O. arms producers until the end of time.

Enjoy independence suckers.

No one in the independence movement really cares about nuclear arms. Much as they don't care about Brexit. Its all just polarising from whatever UK government policy is in order to generate grievance and agitate for change. The people who wanted to rip Scotland out of the EU in 2014 but when brexit happened thought being out of the EU was the worst thing ever are evidence of that.

Also seen a SNP sticker on a car yesterday for the first time in ages. It was a 12 year old suzuki swift or something. You never see them on range rovers or 5 series.
