Don't make it sound as though you are pleased that there is no alternative to Tory - that's not good for anyone.

Well if all the Labour party can come up with is 13 years of Blairism/Tory Lite during my lifetime - then what is the point of them?

Quite. You may not like the Corbyn alternative - but it was an alternative. As you infer, why vote for anything 'lite' when you can have the first eleven?

It was definately an alternative, but simply unpalatable to the great majority of people in the 21c

'Seriously' - Corbyn left the coffers with 13.5 million in reserve; Starmer slashed staff and fee-paying members so that they can only pay one month's salaries.

I would not pledge one penny to a party that has subverted the meaning of the word 'democracy.'

When Starmer slashed staff did they have to make redundancy payments ?  When he slashed staff was it because of the pandemic and furlough ?  At least be honest and try to be objective.  Your love of Jeremy Corbyn is merely clouding what could be a pertinent alternative.

It is a bit of a stretch to blame Starmer alone for fee-paying members ceasing to pay fees.  The pandemic would have hit that significantly too.

The way you ignore the pandemic and its consequences at will, to suit whichever position you are trying to take, is nonsensical to me.

We weren't talking about the pandemic but I don't recall it being used as an excuse. I think the major factor in the cutbacks was because of the huge number of resignations and suspensions in the party (rumoured to be at least 100,000k but we can't confirm because Labour apparently don't release membership data.)

Once again, I don't love Corbyn - I just think he provided a genuine alternative, but he was weak in compromising with those who meant to harm him, when he needed to be ruthless like the present regime is. Some of his former allies were quick to change sides for the sake of their precious careers - folk like Rayner and Ashworth. But that's another story.

Just read what Keunsberg reports; that's all I have done.

As ever you didn't read it very well.

Go away and reflect on the difference between believing something is good and being sure something is good.

Politicians acting like Politicians whod've thunk it?

To be fair the current state of the Labour party has deeper roots than either Corbyn or Starmer.

Ed of the tombstone fame sows the seeds, the £3 membership fee opened the gates for thousands of right wingers to vote for Corbyn, was going to do that myself but have always pledged never to join any political party.

C'mon - that's an urban myth, or at least a Daily Mail fantasy.
