Giving the ball back

Recommended Posts

We're one down against Celtic with a only a few minutes to play and one of their players goes down with a potentially suspect injury and their player kicks the ball out.

You're not sure if it's a genuine injury or just a way of wasting a few more precious seconds.

Do you want us to give the ball back to them?

Yes, it's the correct and sporting thing to do.

Our keeper should have punted the ball out around the half way line though!.

I remember playing away at Linlithgow and a similar incident happened, I threw the ball back to their keeper and our striker was onto it in a flash, volleyed it smashing it off the bar!!!!, there was nearly a riot ?.

In the ideal Corinthian world, yes but the world is not ideal and not all footballers are Corinthians. The referee is in charge. He’s the one to stop play.

Exceptions for the obvious collapse, like Eriksen or if you actually hear the snap of bone or tendon.
