If he goes then whoever comes in wont have much if any money to buy not unless we unload a few it's going to be fun to watch ,then again he will probably stay when he weighs up the prospect of being relegated with Villa.

Surely Villa won't be relegated?

They've got too good a squad.

If he does go, he is going for a reason, most likely lack of transfer funds as he alluded to.

Any manager coming in would be under the same constraints, which would probably rule out a few names on this list.

Pretty likely that the whole backroom team would also go, so not just a first team manager will be required but several roles would need filled.

I voted GVB, got reasonable experience and a Rangers connection.

FWIW, I think Ross Wilson will have this well in hand and it wouldn't surprise me to see someone not on that list from somewhere left-field.

Yes, I would hope he has a shortlist of up and coming managers who I'm not even aware of that is realistic but also ambitious. That's his job. I can't even speculate on who it could be because I barely follow football outside of Scotland anymore.

I mentioned Farke on the other thread.

I think he'd be ideal. German with a high-pressing and ball-possession philosophy, with the ability to develop players and bring through youngsters.

The only issue would be his inability to keep Norwich in the PL, but that can almost be explained by the level of the squad, comparatively speaking, which is... I wouldn't even say it's high Championship level, yet his sides have dominated the Championship, comfortably.

Yet he refused to pick his best midfielder in Billy Gilmour!

First, I miss Neil McCann.

Second, why`s the poll not giving Gary McAllister a "Sir-Walteresque" chance of taking up the place at the helm? With Mr. Beale at his side?

Third, I would expect that we`ll chose a manager who knows the Scottish game as well as the constraints of it ... and us.

Quite a few of those listed will probably expect a backing that we can, in the here and now, not give them. Obviously, SG might do us a final favour and take Kent to Villa in January for, say 15m. That would "ease" the monetary stuff a little.
