Sorry if this is a dumb question, I may not have been paying attention.

How did we end up with the hardest draw when we were seeded?  What was the benefit of being seeded?

Home game second.

It's a con from Uefa to make it look less like they aren't protecting the big clubs. They did away with away goals to offset it and help them even more.

Tiraspol and Zenit were the only "easy" draws in this hat, since both wouldn`t have played much football during the winter. The rest are "hard to solid" ... and the German sides are generally tough. Dortmund isn`t only about Haaland, yet, I would assume we will have our people being clued up about them. Most likely a solid midfield and defense and pace to counter with Sakala, Kent, Morelos and Arfield plus Aribo behind them.

Zenit, played really well against Chelsea though

Decent words from Joe Cole

🗣️ Joe Cole's comments on Rangers and the Europa League draw against Dortmund:

"Ibrox is the factor here, you need to go away and keep it tight.

"If ever a fanbase has been starved of these nights, it's the Rangers faithful and they will make a noise, they will make it a cauldron.

"The big problem is stopping Erling Haaland, some of the top defenders in the Bundesliga and Champions League haven't worked out how to do that.

"So van Bronckhorst, you've got to have a game plan, maybe stop the supply into him, suffocating at source.

"It's an intriguing tie, it's probably the most difficult tie they could have got but they will embrace it and it's going to be a fantastic night at Ibrox.

"Where is your club at the moment? I don't think Glasgow Rangers, with all due respect, expect to win this tournament.

"They have been unbelievable, Steven Gerrard was able to do a great job there, and van Bronckhorst has come in and hit the ground running.

"It's just about the occasion, if they do go out and beat Borussia Dortmund, with the great players they have got, these lads become even greater legends in the city and club.

"Glasgow Rangers are a few years away from competing at this level, because they have come from a low point over the last 10 years. But it's a fantastic club, a fantastic city, and European football is all the better for having Glasgow Rangers at this stage in the competition."

It'll be interesting to see our centre halves (who to be fair rise to the challenge when required, ie in the bigger games) up against big Haaland.

He's the most complete striker I've ever seen.

He is a freak. Massive, fast, strong, great technique, composure, finishing. Has it all. Very enjoyable to watch.

Noted that Sands, Diallo and Ramsey have been added to our EL squad, Itten not yet. The list also still included Patterson and Kelly, for some reason.

homegrown so no need to remove.

Though not like we can recall Patterson.

see dortmund got humped at the weekend. We are in here.

They are still studded to the hilt with talent, usually come off the boil after the winter break. Lost in the cup to BL 2 side St. Pauli, 2-5 yesterday against Leverkusen.

They will play far more open than most of the teams in the SPFL, no surprise there, and that will be essentially like yesterday`s game. We need a tight defence and solid midfield, but its tailor made for the speed of Kent, Sakala and the power of Morelos. Let`s see how Ramsey fits in there, as he can be the creative force needed to set up our strikers.
