I know there are a few posts talking about the game already in the other thread but best to create a new one.

 

A pity Helander wasn't quite fit enough to make this tie so it will be back to Bassey at centre half with Balogun still unavailable.  Good news is that Jack has travelled so he's an option once more if fully fit.

 

Morelos and Sakala are a booking each away from missing the second leg.

Will be interesting to see if the manager opts for our favoured away Euro formation in recent years of 4-3-3 or if he sticks with his 4-2-3-1 we've seen more of in recent weeks.

 

Certainly plenty options through the side and you could easily add the likes of Davis, Arfield, Sakala or Roofe into the team if you have one eye on Sunday's trip to Tannadice.

Midfield is huge is we want to stop them.  Although Jack is the best of the bunch, I'm not sure I'd start him tomorrow night, as we have more important games ahead. 

 

Playing two holding midfielders might be worthwhile (Lundstram and Sands/Jack).

 

I'd go with (4-2-3-1):

 

McGregor

Tav Goldson Bassey Barisic.

Lundstram Sands.

Sakala Aribo Kent.

Morelos

 

A tough night lies ahead but we've overcome bigger obstacles.

With Balogun & Helander both out it does weaken us, Bassey does ok at CB but is better at LB, I still think Barisic is a poor defender so it's going to be a tough night and expect our keeper to have a busy match due to that fact.

Midfield to front we have strength in depth, it's just selecting who plays where, what combination, but that's the managers job to do so I will not attempt to.

Regardless who starts we need all our players to be at their very best, I don't fancy us to get anything from the match so even a draw would be a great result.

I think we are under estimating Dortmund big time. I hope to be pleasantly surprised, but I have to say I fear the worst
