Abdoulaye Sissako 'in Rangers transfer talks' as chase heats up for Zulte Waregem free agent

Premiership champions Rangers have entered into talks with midfield enforcer Abdoulaye Sissako and are favourites to snap up the Zulte Waregem star.

And reports in Belgium have suggested Sissako has already started negotiations with the Europa League semi-finalists and is close to agreeing on a move to the Premiership.
Sissako has an option for a further year at Zulte Waregem, but he wants to move on after the Flanders outfit finished third bottom of the league.
He came through the youth system at Auxerre and joined Zulte Waregem three years ago. He is the older brother of former PSG defender Moussa Sissako, who currently also plays in Belgium with Standard Liege.
Sissako has made 19 appearances for Zulte Waregem this season and scored twice. He was linked with a move to Panathinaikos in January, but the move to Greece fell through.

He missed a chunk of the end of last season because of a lung infection, but returned to play a big part this term in Belgium and has scored twice so far this term.

Zulte Waregem have stated they wanted to persuade Sissako to sign a new deal with them. Former boss Francky Dury, who has since been sacked, said earlier this season: "We continue to hold talks with Abdoulaye and hope we can agree a new contract.
"He was in the Frence youth teams when he was younger and you can see that with the way he plays. He's an excellent player and we hope he stays."
However, Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst is already planning for next season and sees Sissako as a bargain for the new campaign.

Lancelot Pollard eyed for Rangers transfer from Aberdeen as Ibrox side ready six-figure bid to beat Liverpool

Rangers are prepared to make their move now to get an early deal done for one of the brightest talents emerging through Cormack Park.
Determined Rangers are looking to beat Liverpool to the signing of Aberdeen youngster Lancelot Pollard.
The Premiership champions are aware that there is big interest in the Dons' young attacker and are prepared to make a six figure bid to get a quick deal over the line.
Liverpool have an active interest while Manchester United are also known to be keeping tabs on the talented teenager.
Rangers are prepared to make their move now to get an early deal done.
Pollard has come through the Cormack Park youth ranks and has been seen as one of the best young talents in the Aberdeen academy.
He has played up through the Aberdeen under-age teams and has also turned out for their under-18 squad.
That has brought Pollard to the attention of Rangers and some of England’s biggest clubs.
Aberdeen know they could lose him for training compensation when he is able to sign his first pro-forms.

That rag gets NOTHING by way of insight from within our club, and therefore any speculation they make up is entirely that, and should not be given any credibility on these pages IMO.

 

Even reading the clips above there is absolutely nothing to link these players with our club.

Rangers have joined Premier League clubs, including Brentford, Burnley and West Ham United, in showing an interest in Scotland forward Jacob Brown, with present club Stoke City planning to open contract talks with the 24-year-old. (Football League World)

According to the oracle Patrick Caskie on twitter the 1 year option was activated so there will be no bosman.

Not sure what you mean? In reality if there is a fight between us and liverpool for any player its a bit like bringing a pea shooter to take on a warship. We wont come out on top.

We apparently look at Scott Twine (22) of MK Dons. Going by his stats, he`s exactly the versatile attacker we should aim at.

 

He`s been "on our radar" earlier this year ...
