Gunslinger was implying Ukranians would be happy we're handing them Eurovision/football byes and that Russians would be less likely to support the war, for the same reasons. I was stating you were conflating very different situations. nothing you have said above is what i was saying. That poll is quite old but since it says more Brits think the EU was doing a good job, it clearly reflects the usual political tribalism and particularly an over-sentimentalised, cloying virtue signalling about refugees, rather than any informed opinion about crisis response. Pretty much all of them. As i say you get a bit of that for sure but there are plenty of swing voters. Not in the sense you outline no but they do show as do all votes that views are flexible not entrenched. The YouGov data finds that 30% of those who voted No in 2014 and Remain in 2016 now say they would vote Yes.
