Nevermind 153 Posted May 31, 2022 Share Posted May 31, 2022 Naturally you'd think the little general would have opted for a standard 4-3-3 being Dutch n all, but I've been reading lately here and there, that he often '' favoured '' an asymmetric 4-4-2. Is that right? I just remember the guys playing some beautiful stuff, the link up play between De boar and Ferguson was mouth watering at times. Flat back four with the likes of Ferguson and Ricksen as holding players and various attackers used with de Boer, Flo, Mols etc as a focal point and others such as Caniggia, McCann, Lovenkrands and Arveladze in wider areas. 0 Quote Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Reyna Ferguson Albertz RDB Ricksen GVB and Kanchelskis. Amato Mols JJ. Porrini Hendry Amo and Numan at the back. Remember when DA played Tugay at sweeper. We thought he was off his head but our current Manager Mr Van Bronckhorst scored the winner in Monaco. We played Bayern off the park twice too. Other than Moscow at Ibrox in 92 I think the most gutted - European wise outside the two Europa/Uefa final defeats - is the nights against Bayern. In his first season it was Wallace upfront with a combination of Johansson, Amato and Guivarc'h. Did Advocaat play Ricksen in the midfield? I thought he was mainly used as a right back by him.
