Paratroopers in orgy is surely not news; paratrooper NOT in orgy, on the other hand....

I don't quite understand this, but apparently the soldiers may have breached Standing Orders

A group of paratroops are under police investigation after being filmed having an orgy with a woman at a military base.

The Royal Military Police (RMP) are investigating after several video clips were circulated on social media of the woman having sex with a number of troops, all men, from 16 Air Assault Brigade as dozens watched.

An army source said that the clips were “pretty graphic in detail”, adding: “It’s a single female with a number of soldiers engaged in consensual sex.” It is believed that the woman, a civilian, may have been smuggled in to Merville Barracks in Colchester, Essex.

The footage shows sexual activity in different areas of the base, with half-naked troops. At one point a serviceman salutes as his comrade has sex with the woman.

It is not clear when the incident took place. The RMP has been brought in to find out details of how the woman got onto camp, whether she was signed in, and whether any illegal activity took place, for example if she was a sex worker.

The men may be disciplined for breaking standing orders if they are found to have done anything wrong, according to army sources.

A spokesman for the army said: “The army expects the highest standards of behaviour from all their personnel. Anyone not maintaining these standards will be investigated and appropriate action will be taken against them.

“The Royal Military Police are investigating several videos appearing to involve army personnel. It would be inappropriate to comment further while investigations are ongoing.”

The military has faced several sex scandals over the years, including allegations of inappropriate affairs and behaviour.

In 2017, nine British servicemen were thrown off a nuclear submarine at the centre of a sex inquiry after testing positive for cocaine while on duty.

Crew onboard HMS Vigilant were alleged to have had drug-fuelled parties while the submarine was docked in the US to pick up nuclear warheads. One man was said to have had sex with a prostitute in a swimming pool.

It also emerged that the submarine’s captain and the second-in-command were removed from duty amid claims of extra-marital affairs with two females onboard.

so basically anyone filmed without an erection will be charged with breaking standing orders.

It's the topsy turvy world of the British Army, so to be 'standing' is a breach of Standing Orders.

Makes sense to the military.

And there is more.

Orgy video shows army culture is stuck in the past, says Ben Wallace

“The army has a cultural issue to address,” he (Ben Wallace) said. “It makes me think that the army has still not moved forward from 30 years ago.”

Do we know anybody who was in the Paras 30 years ago? Because it's his fault; obvs.

Actually, perhaps the most salient point is that, evidentially, it takes eight paratroopers to satisfy one Essex girl.

Proud to be British? Pout-etre non.

Clearly, remedial training is required, forthwith.

Orgy video shows army culture is stuck in the past, says Ben Wallace

Wallace said he was deeply uneasy about the message the video would send to women who wanted to join the army

Paratroops who filmed themselves having an orgy show that the British Army is still stuck in the 1990s when it comes to its behaviour towards women, Ben Wallace has said.

The defence secretary said that the army must address its “culture issues” after eight troops were filmed having sex with one woman at a military barracks.

“The army has a cultural issue to address,” he said. “It makes me think that the army has still not moved forward from 30 years ago.” He added that he was still working to establish the full facts of the incident but that he was “deeply uneasy” about what is known to have happened.

“I’m uneasy because there are lots of issues. The massive power imbalance, even if it was consensual. The culture — what does it say to a future woman who wanted to join the army? And security,” he said.

Wallace, a former Scots Guard, was speaking on a visit to Iceland where he is meeting defence ministers from the “northern group” of 12 European nations, including Poland and Germany, to discuss the Ukraine crisis.

Wallace also took a thinly veiled swipe at President Macron for his comments last Friday, when he reiterated his belief that President Putin must be given an exit route from the “historic and fundamental mistake” he had made in invading Ukraine. “We must not humiliate Russia, so that the day when the fighting stops we can build an exit ramp through diplomatic means,” he said.

Wallace, who did not rule out running to replace Boris Johnson as prime minister in the future, said he “did not care” if Putin was humiliated. “Putin built himself in a trap and drove right into it the day he crossed Ukraine,” he said.

However, he added that he “did not have a problem” with Macron speaking to Putin. “Somebody has got to tell Putin he has lost one day. Somebody is going to have to ring him up one day and say leave because you’re making a fool of yourself. That may be the Chinese, it may be President Macron,” he said.

It emerged this week that the Royal Military Police had opened an investigation after footage circulated on social media showing troops from 16 Air Assault Brigade participating in an orgy while dozens more watched.

It is believed that the woman was smuggled onto Merville Barracks in Colchester, Essex. Military police are investigating who she was. One line of inquiry is that she may have been a sex worker. The paratroops may be disciplined for breaking standing orders if they are found to have done anything wrong.

Wallace has in the past summoned army top brass into his office for a dressing down after becoming “exasperated” by bullying and sex scandals.
