Of course.

Critiquing current players who will have an impact on our future, and back snipping a proven professional who was moved on for a record fee, are two different things.

IMHO, one of the two, is quite pointless, and borders on petulance.

I will let you decide which.

As for Bassey's service, and my gauge of it, any player who played at his level, with his pace of improvement, and was moved on those terms...is a TRUE servant in every capacity.

Great point. It is petulant to criticise a Rangers player before he has kicked a ball.

No idea what you mean by "TRUE servant". Does that mean he can head the ball?

Not necessarily. Willie Henderson wasn’t renowned for aerial prowess either. Bassey had drive, determination and enthusiasm. Three words meaning much the same but they emphasise the qualities which Bassey deployed for the team. I wish we could have kept him but I’m glad we got the money. Cakeism - the politician who can implement it gets my vote.

"TRUE servant"

A true servant is beneficial to both himself, and his team.

Through hard work (training, and match), perseverance (learning from mistakes both on and off the pitch), match contribution (Man of the match, making those around him better), and increased value (monetarily, as well as raising the levels of those surrounding him), Calvin ticked all of the boxes in a very limited timeframe.

Davies has yet to hit any marks...thus my critique.

Final word on the topic to you sir.

I think there has been a tendency to overstate Bassey's achievements at Rangers. He was good and certainly getting better but he still has some way to go, as I believe we will see at Ajax. The good news is he will probably be far better player in a couple of years.
