Smith played for half an hour in a youth match against Motherwell at Murray Park as he continues his recovery form an injury nightmare that stalled a promising Ibrox career. The 22-year-old has been sidelined since December 2006 when Paul Le Guen was still in charge of the team. Smith has gone under the knife for surgery to repair a damaged groin and his recovery was further complicated by an injury to his back.
