Hutton Transfer - done deal

Recommended Posts

Rangers defender Alan Hutton will stay with the club until the end of the season despite holding signing talks with Spurs, BBC Scotland understands.

The two clubs agreed a fee of about £8m more than three weeks ago but Hutton, 23, stated his desire to remain with the Scottish Premier League leaders.

Spurs have since improved the terms on offer to the Scotland international and the decision remains with the player.

Rangers say nothing has changed since the transfer fee was agreed.

Hutton signed a new five-year deal with the Ibrox side last July and any potential move to the north London club looked over after the player rejected a second bid.

But Spurs manager Juande Ramos has rekindled his interest in the six-times capped attacking right-back.

Hutton travelled to London for talks on Sunday, but returned to Murray Park for training the following day.

However, BBC Scotland understands Hutton will not leave Ibrox before Thursday's transfer deadline, but may join the English Premier League outfit in the summer.

Great stuff if he stays until the end of the season, he deserves to choose what he wants rather than the club cashing in on him.

Its a shame that the situation we are in shows we club would prefer the money. Many a player would have jumped at the chance of Spurs even though they may not have made it.

Im sure Hutton will get a few better offers in the summer.

Just read on skysports that Hutton has been offered 33k per week to sign for Spurs...... but Woodgate is apparently getting 60k per week.

Maybe it is just me, but there is no way Woodgate is worth double the wages of Hutton.

Thats just what happens when you come from a lower league but its absolute pish.

Hutton will probably play double the amount of games Woodgate will play. I cant believe they are paying 8 million for another injury crock. Woodgate has been lucky to play 25% of games in a season at every club he has been to.

If I was Hutton id raise the point and look to get nearer 50k.

Well Done Alan he has proved that he wants to play for club than play for money. This guy is on his way to being a Rangers legend, but to become that he has to stay. Instead of selling him in the summer Rangers should increase his wages and offer him a new contract
