If RM is to continue with his style of football surely a goalkeeper who can kick the ball without scaring the shit out of us is top priority. Ball playing defenders must be high on his wanted list too, after all we must have leaked around fifteen or twenty goals more than the manky mob.

Kelly was brought up to play with his feet and to be fair he is better at playing out than Butland.

Álvaro Valles 27, Las Palmas would be a great bargain for us if he doesn’t go to Real Betis. He is on a free after not renewing his contract. Worth £2.5 million potential cheaper. Let’s hope RM is scouting the Spanish leagues also since his style of play is more Spanish based.

Rangers are considering a move for Christian Eriksen, 33, on a free transfer ahead of his imminent departure from Manchester United, according to former Old Trafford assistant manager Mick Brown. (Football Insider)

Well, I can't see it, but he would obviously be the calm head in our creative/attacking midfield department. Likewise, he won't have to run that much, so pace is not important.

Transfer speculation and the mythical Player Trading Model

Well, you are right. The obvious answer is that you need quality veterans who have seen  it all, some experienced middle-age guys, and the young guns (like Raskin, Igamane, Cortes), who hone their skills and can be sold for cash.

I don't mind a sane old head like Defoe or Davis, and obviously, age of players vs ability is nowadays a bit difficult to determine. I'd be somewhat sceptical of a Vardy in Scotland, but he knows everything a striker needs to know and has the mettle too

We'll just have to wait and see what the squad looks like in September.

Building good foundations should be the current priority.
