Meeting between RST and Murray

Recommended Posts

"RST members will be aware that four members of the Trust Board met with the Clubs Chairman and Chief Executive yesterday.

The main issues discussed were around the current and future relationships between the Club and the Trust.

We are pleased to report that the meeting involved a full and frank discussion and exchange of views and concluded constructively.

Trust representatives briefly outlined a number of issues which members had raised, and it was agreed that correspondence would be considered prior to any possible subsequent meeting, following which a full report back will be given to Trust members."

Interpretation of the statement:

RST members will be aware that four members of the Trust Board met with the Club's Chairman and Chief Executive yesterday.

"Because we have a leak, everyone knows about the confidential meeting between the clique and the Club"

The main issues discussed were around the current and future relationships between the Club and the Trust.

"Despite our pleading, Sir David told us that we had no prospect of a relationship with the Club"

We are pleased to report that the meeting involved a full and frank discussion and exchange of views and concluded constructively.

"We are trying to pretend that we told him off but the reality is he kicked our egotistical asses"

Trust representatives briefly outlined a number of issues which members had raised, and it was agreed that correspondence would be considered prior to any possible subsequent meeting, following which a full report back will be given to Trust members.

"Before we had a chance to say much he threw us out and told us to put any more correspondence in writing, so we'll now go crying to our dwindling membership"

Let's be clear about this. It wasn't a meeting between the club and the Trust. No matter how it was dressed for public consumption, it was a meeting between Murray/Bain and four members of FF who are also RST board members (if you say there still is such a thing as an RST board).

Murray laid down the law about what he will no longer tolerate on FF as much as the conduct of the RST.

The meeting was called by Murray, not by the four 'new militants'. The four 'now-not-so-militants' had nothing to say afterwards because it would have been too embarrassing to announce what Murray has told them they will do. However, expect a new purge of bannings whenever there is criticism of Murray on FF.

You can be sure the brief age of militancy is now well and truly over. Dingwall has been Dingwalled. It seems posing just isn't the same as the real thing.

Business at the meeting certainly seems a bit sparse to say the least.

Given the request put to the membership for questions, I'm surprised so little was put forward on their behalf. I guess a fuller report on the meeting may be made available at the SGM a week tomorrow.
