She pushed this show very hard internally. The budget was never sufficient She was told it would be a disaster by people who knew. And a disaster it is. She is walking away having earned £180k per annum and she has been there for 30 years working her way up the salary scale to its present rate. Her BBC pension pot will be circa £2.5m possibly more. Absolute disgrace of an organisation not fit to serve the public. BBC Scotland would fail in any business other than one where they can legally extort money from ‘customers’.5 points

Compare and contrast? A Father and son duo from London provide a real service, they capture all the drama and atmosphere of a European night at Ibrox. It's top of the range. They engage with the supporters before, during, and after; a true barometer of emotions. They bring a genuine enthusiasm, no agendas. I feared for them eating an Ibrox pie, more adventurous than me. The national broadcaster preferred a scenario of three guys talking in a studio half a mile from Ibrox. They were satisfied with two thirds of the match gone and Rangers losing 0-2. They talked about Sellik's class, conveyed none of the emotion of the comeback. They broadcast each of the three goals, scorers and times, in between eulogising French Eddy. At the final whistle, Richard Gordon gave the final scores and went to the news. ....... and we wonder why Donalda MacKinnon has flagged her decision to step down?4 points

This is well worth a watch from an English lad and his Dad who vlog around UK football (they were at Ibrox earlier in the season too)...4 points

Lol this thread is comedy gold reading some of the early posts. What a night and one of the most unbelievable turnarounds i have witnessed. Can we pull off the shock next week now too?! Why not. Big blow not having Morelos but Kamberi has impressed me in his cameos. I would start him on Sunday too3 points

The thing about Hagi wasn’t just his skill and goal contribution but he cajoled the entire stadium and transformed the feelings around the stadium and beyond.3 points

Yeah, watched it at 1.15 am as I couldn't sleep as I was still buzzing.3 points

You’re spot on compo. The game turned on a moment of quality from an individual. That’s what Hagi brings to the team.3 points

I'm hoping they just don't win against Rangers. A result comparable to the away game at Porto would be desirable. I think we will score over there because they play an open game and we have quality enough to capitalise on that. Thing is they do too. They're a potent attacking force.2 points

I thought it was over at 2-0 and saw no way back into it. In saying that I wouldn't have left with 30 minutes remaining. Braga were clearly in the ascendancy that first hour yet Rangers had still created multiple chances and should have had at least one goal. As for Hagi he's clearly a game changer. Hoping the price for him was settled when the loan deal with option to buy was signed. Can only see him getting even better which could encourage Genk to squeeze us if the price hasn't already been agreed. The two footed nature of his talent is astounding and will get him a lot of goals. How many times is a good chance lost as a player takes a touch or even two to get the ball on to a favoured foot? He can just go for it no matter how it falls to him. Saw him score two penalties for Genk in a single game. Took each penalty with a different foot.2 points

A bizarre idea from the beginning. The "need" for a BBC Scotland channel was imagined up by nationalist zealots and imposed on us all.2 points

McGregor, Arfield, Aribo and Kamberi all get pass for me but last night belonged to young Hagi.2 points

It's a cost benefit analysis though. Would we have been justified bringing in a quality back up left back? If we had we probably wouldn't have been able to afford Hagi. I have always said I would prefer we went for quality over quantity and that means bringing in individuals who can carry his teammates at times. Think Ferguson, De Boer and Arteta in the same team as Bob Malcolm and Maurice Ross in 02/03. The latter two played 30 odd games each that season.2 points

The way this issue is currently being treated in Scottish society is scandalous! Scottish politicians refuse to get involved due to the partisan nature of football and the main club involved. They are all cowards, and I include all parties here, but especially people like Nicola Sturgeon and Humza Yousaf, who refuse to engage with any of the victims and especially the mother of a victim who committed suicide. Football clubs are not any better and the approach and cover up by Celtic is shameful, from the change in name of he boys' club to the non-existent ongoing investigation, and shows that the ethos of the club is morally bankrupt, I don't believe that our support are blameless either. The BJK chant comes across as celebratory and rather than being constructive, turns a lot of people off the subject. The subject does need to be continually bought to the fore-front and not ignored, but this is not the way to do it. There is a view that Scotland is a progressive society but this shows that we are anything but. Children are one of the most needing of protection and we as a society are failing them in this continued cover-up and refusal to deal with the victims.2 points

A few players did well in the second half and Allan McGregor once again made a few important stops but has to be Hagi for me. Yes, like many creative forwards, he can slip in and out of games but he sparked the comeback and created three good chances across the rest of the game. Putting Kent to shame at the moment...1 point

Hagi is clearly a step up in quality but he isn't unique. When we were signing Carlos Pena other clubs were signing young talent like Hagi. You have to believe there are always players like Hagi or Morelos or Barisic or Jack out there. One of the greatest improvements is that at long last we're starting to find some of them. We should never stop believing that we can improve on every member of our squad. Even Hagi.1 point

Doubt Kamberi will start or even play on Sunday. If he gets injured then we’ve no recognised striker for Wednesday1 point

And it goes way beyond just not attending Ibrox, as we all know. I compared the word count on their match reports of Rangers and Celtic's away European matches last season and it was shocking. Celtic's match reports had something like triple the word count consistently. If only we could get a "word count" of the free radio advertisement they get. They must spend at least 5 times more time talking about them than us, and that's before you even begin to compare how positive or negative what they are saying is. They've shown their true colours since they have been given this excuse. It isn't a popular view on here but I still think we should take that excuse away and deal with the matter in other ways. I totally understand why that's unthinkable for others but the stand-off has gone on for too long and the BBC are getting away with not fulfilling their charter to cover us, I'm not seeing any prospect of them facing any consequences whatsoever for their actions as things stand.1 point

No reason why you can’t have one. But if you are going to do it it doesn’t cost £32m pa especially where that £32m doesn’t even represent £32m investment in new productions and talent. She was strongly advised. She should have told London that it won’t work. She didn’t, it hasn’t and many other areas of her organisation such as Sportsound continue to operate an embargo against hundreds of thousands of people who contribute healthily to her salary and pension pot. Let’s be clear as well on the Rangers issue. BBC Scotland do not operate just a boycott of Rangers. They operate an embargo against all Rangers fans in the country by prohibiting and blocking appropriate coverage of our matches through ‘editorial choice’ (no laughing at the back), and last night was a spectacular example of their bloody mindedness and failure to see reason in their ongoing deprivation of Rangers fans rights. No wonder they can’t run a national channel. They can’t even cover football properly.1 point

7.2/10 for the pie? I think that they were being very polite on this occasion!1 point

No debate here. Hagi created chance after chance and then took matters into his own hands with a quality solo goal which turned everything around.1 point

I do like Kamberi he has looked hungry when he has came on, I still would have liked Vydra though, something a wee bit different, his goal for Burnley the other week was a cracker1 point

I always say the only thing worse than Scottish referees is European referees. Every time Trincao was blown over by the wind he got a free kick. I can’t stand the way they butcher the beautiful game by making it a non-contact sport.1 point

I think the 4-5-1 we were playing towards the end is the best way to defend against Braga, because it covers their Wing-backs. Our 4-3-3 was compact vertically, but their width completely negated that strength. Our press was terrible. We didn't cover their pivot, or the wingers. I think we made it far too easy for them. Of course, all that is secondary to the fact that we couldn't complete a simple pass all night until that quite remarkable transformation.1 point

It was the Stewart for Barisic sub that was the most bold -- Aribo was left playing LB!! I like Kamberi; a lot. I love Aribo. He gets a lot of criticism from fans mostly because of his languid style, but when he turns it on, he's phenomenal.1 point

Well... a lot of negative Nancies. Rousseau, Dado, compo, Les, One, BEARGER, Yorkie, Coop, Stevie, WB91, 26th, MacK, FS and TB gained 1 point for the Correct Result. Coop and FS gained 1 point for the Correct Number of Rangers Goals. Lenny and Franc gained 2 points for Hagi as FGS. No one had the Correct Score. Latest Standings:1 point

I’ve just remembered that Ryan Jack will be back for the away leg. That is huge. I would rather have Jack than Morelos i think. Kamberi looks hungry and sharp and has a bit more pace on the counter. But Jack will be great to plug some of the leaks in our midfield.1 point

Call me cynical, but I wonder whether the term "Old Firm" will be used more often than "Celtic" ... as it is something that reflects negatively on them. The important aspect of child abuse aside (as it IMHO needs no explanation how we all feel about it), given the way other countries have dealt with it, even "the English", it is utterly shameful how the topic is being handled in Scotland by those in power at nigh all strata of society, media and politics. One need not go into the paranoic depths of talking about a Catholic / Celtic Conspiracy, but seemingly one "does not speak about the Fight Club", whether being directly involved or thriving in its environment.1 point
