  1. You shouldn't believe it because I say it. But when the manager and the chairman both say it then you have to start giving it credibility. And let's just examine the situation. The board have brought in the most high profile manager the club has had in decades. Arguably the most high profile manager we have ever had. A footballing legend known the world over. What did they bring him in for? The answer is they brought him in to win the league and knock this 10iar nonsense on the head. He then builds a team and maneuvers it into a position where they can do that. Now having done that I have to believe him and his chairman when they both say no key players leaving in January. Because if key players were sold off in January I feel they could very well have blown this league and not just this one. The next one too. You seriously think Gerrard after having being asked to get us into this position is just going to sit quietly while they snatch it away from him? For what? Throw it all away for some money that could just as easily be realised in the Summer? If they were to sell key players now there is no way they could be replaced like for like at a price we would pay. If they could be then those replacements are the ones the EPL clubs would be going for. And If you're not foreseeing the fan meltdown that would incur I really don't know how else to paint it. And yes as I have mentioned before whether you think it's dramatic or not the manager too would be melting down if they snatch it all away from him at this crucial time. Yahoos from the mouth of Lennon promising to strengthen and we weaken? And there's more at stake for Gerrard than just stopping their run of league wins. If he can pull this off his reputation soars to complement the kudos he has been getting for the Euro results. If they were to sell key players in January they would be looking like the idiots Spiers painted them as for hiring Gerrard. If you think they are so stupid as to throw away the chance to stop this yahoo run and seriously damage their relationship with the manager we're going to have to agree to disagree. I don't think they're that stupid.

  2. Sadly this is not how you should deal with trolls.

  3. I see there was a PA announcement at the Huddersfield Town vs Stoke City match, due to Huddersfield fans singing "F*ck the IRA" at McLean. It's widely being reported as a 'racist' and 'sectarian' incident. McLean was apparently making hand gestures at the Huddersfield fans (who he has previous with) prior to the chant and then applauded the announcement. We live in odd times...

  4. I met Mr Johnston recently and he seemed like a nice chap but I suspect he and other board members don't often encounter low-level yahoos...if ever. We have far bigger problems than the 'new club' jibes (FARE's influence with UEFA and SFA officials are two that immediately spring to mind).

  5. VAR the way that the EPL have implemented it isn't working. However if it were to be used correctly for "clear and obvious errors" then it's much more viable. Going forwards I think it's naturally going to become a challenge system as in other sports, so each team (through Captain or Manager) gets a set number of appeals (say 2 appeals with an extra one at half time so 3 in total, plus an additional for games that go to extra time). Then you wouldn't be having constant VAR interruptions, a goal where the striker is offside by half an inch is unlikely to be referred except in desperation as it would throw away an appeal opportunity. Done correctly it should be possible to make the system work. Done the way the EPL has done, it's doomed to fail. Unfortunately for Scottish football it would need to have an intelligent implementation. Oh well!

  6. I saw this yesterday but at the end of the day the narrative by the gutter press, clueless pundits and the crazy tims is already out there and is "set in stone". Let's face it, if Alfie had gone off the pitch smiling with his thumbs up he would still be getting pelters. Shitty papers have to fight against dwindling sales and the only thing they have in their locker is peddling stories from the bottom of the barrel to idiots who essentially still keep them in a job.

  7. If interest from Arsenal is serious then they can pay serious money. They paid £25 million for a left back with a well known glass ankle and who has barely kicked a ball since her arrived. They can afford to pay top dollar so let's force them to if it comes to it.

  8. I know Chris Graham isn't popular with all Rangers fans but he always says the correct things, as far as I'm concerned. He's certainly spot on with that tweet about English. As for Jim Traynor, surely we can do better than him? PR is another issue that we, as a club and a support, don't do particularly well.

  10. So we aren't allowed to be anti-terrorist? Being against a sectarian terrorist organisation is apparently sectarian in its own right? Someone will need to explain how the authorities are able to justify their warped logic.

  12. I recall reading somewhere an estimated cost of about 5k per match. Across the SPFL that's 38 games per team, so a total of 228 matches. Gives a total of £1,140,000 if the 5k figure is reasonable (and it doesn't sound too off the mark I suspect...) Obviously we're not going to get big screens and everything for that, but a pitch side monitor, remote viewing office and some guys to man it plus cameras at all grounds sounds about right surely?

  14. Maybe they’re looking at Barisic seeing as he’s better than glass ankle Tierney. i dont think it would be Morelos to be honest Given they have Aubamayang, Lacazette, Martinelli already, but I COULD see it being Jack as a holding midfielder. He’s better than anything they have in that position.

  15. Sorry to digress admin but....I know you hang about Twitter too Ian, the Timplosion is just so funny ? The Morelos tunnel stuff and Christie with his removed gonad, due to Alfie is priceless? They have totally lost it, it's so funny!

  17. I was just thinking about some fans who think it was wrong for the club to reduce to reduce the away ticket allocation in this fixture, I personally think it is the correct decision, and that performance & result proves the reduced number of Rangers fans doesn't really have any bearing on the teams performance!.
