Polis refused to sanction it. They said that the risk of violence between pro-Tav and anti-Tav factions was too high.10 points

He will see this season out as captain, which I'm fine with. he is a good professional, works hard, never any bother in or around his personal life, a focused family man. A good role model for younger players. Always fit and available. A top player at his peak, he was unplayable at times and probably the most influential figure in our run to Seville. If we wants to see his time out here then I'm happy for him to do so, he has a contract and deserves it. Ideally I'd like his wages off the payroll but it is not going to happen. BUT He has clearly declined physically as a player, he should be used sparingly. The club should see this as an opportunity to bring in young RB with potential to share the season with him. That's up to our head coach and DoF. That's not on the player.9 points

Raskin is a must sell unless he signs a new contract. We can't get into another Kent/Morelos situation. Our operating model means we have to sell.8 points

Imagine the tifos at Glasgow derbies next season if we have Mussolini bombing up the right wing and an Israeli banging the goals in. 🤣7 points

Top scorer in the league = dud hahaha. The new owners have been in 5mins and the transfer window is barely open and some are equating it to previous transfer windows under previous owners. Its as if the previous decade of mismanagement didn't happen and that the new owners should have fixed all the issues by now Honestly, some of our "fans" are absolutely bonkers.7 points

Now is the perfect time to sell him. He will be 31 later this year and have 1 year of his contract left next summer. Getting our money back after 2 good years of Dessers is smart. We have to trust our recruitment process or there is no point in recruiting.7 points

I must be in the minority, but I don't think I've ever developed a connection with any Rangers player. Other than Josh Windass, of course, but that transcends mere fan adoration, and hits me on a deep spiritual level.6 points

We're not in the position to let £11 million or £12 million assets to run down their contracts for nothing. Yes, we've more chance to reach the CL with him, but that's all it is. A chance. We can't "speculate". We can't gamble. We've done that before recently and under Murray and it caused issues. We can't take the view that because we may make a profit on some players, we can afford to let others walk away for nothing. We made a £17m loss in 2024. In 2023, we were in the CL, made a profit of £23m in player sales and still made a loss. We need to be run on a sound financial footing.5 points

You are left with modern football which is rubbish. Nobody should be forming emotional attachments to random mercenaries like Dessers, Igamane and Raskin.5 points

Players are cattle. Some need to be sent to market so we can afford new ones and maintain the rest. You cant always grow your own as we well know. Fans need to realise the game has changed. Random Moroccans and Belgians have no affinity with the club or the support. Its a job with a stepping stone to a another, better paid job.5 points

We've screamed for a player trading model that works. That requires detaching any 'emotion' we may have to any / all players. If the model works, we recieve £xxM for 3 players, that's then used to buy 6 players and the cycle continues and the risk reduces. Each player has a price and if that price is Mey, we sell and move on. It's the only way can work.5 points

How long does he actually have left? Im hoping its not a black and white situation and we can negotiate him a new deal so he stays this upcoming season and let him leave for X amount next summer. I know there isnt much loyalty in football but we did nurse him through the best part of 2 years. He was almost becoming the new Jordan Rossiter when he first came.4 points

If Raskin doesn't sign a new contract we have to sell him. We can't continue the cycle of our best players / assets running their contracts down and leaving for nothing (or next to nothing). That's what the previous board did and it led to a situation where we were unable to operate / function. We can't (and won't) continue down that road.4 points

I personally would be more positive and more ambitious than this. We cant be selling our best player if we have hope of winning the league next season and there is no reason why we cant. We have proved in the past 12 months we can now match and beat Celtic and its only tidying up performances against the other teams that has prevented us challenging. If we can get a season in the champions league it outweighs any fee we get for Raskin. If we get good profits on Igamane and Dessers then that is good income. If we are planning on another rebuild and the aim is just to get closer to Celtic next season then its negative and yes we may as well sell Raskin now if he hasnt put pen to paper on a long term deal and we can remain happy being second fiddle for another few years. EDIT - should add the aim and its not a complex one should be to get Raskin signed up with a release clause yet if he wants to leave then thats a different matter. The Morelos and Kent situation was under a badly run regime so these new owners have not even got their feet under the desk yet so lets see what the come up with. I also think Raskin's attitude is better than the said two players. But I think you take the wee man out the team then it would leave a massive gap.4 points

You wanted everything sorted last season, NOW. Have you converted to a patient supporting experience? 😂😂😂😂😂4 points

We aren't at the spend 10M on potential stage in our yet to be established player trading model. We are currently still in the annual heavy loss model... ...or the bring in 810,000 for 5 sales and 4 loans whilst committing 4M to Cortes model.4 points

If we were offered £15m for Raskin, I think we'd take it and I wouldn't have a problem with that.4 points

I'd be happy with Mulligan. He looks like a young, athletic player, able to play midfield and WB. He could be useful.4 points

Selling Igamane, Raskin and Dessers for £40-50m would be terrific business.4 points

Eriksen is a big no for me, we've been a retirement home to enough players that would be 'good enough for up here' thank you very much.4 points

Not interested mate so I'll sit this one out4 points

It's not Tav's fault if he's just been following instructions. It's clear that he's been asked to play as an inverted full back on occasions over the last couple of seasons.4 points

When talking about Ally McCoist goalscoring records, including 2 golden boots, do we discount his penalties? "Remove the penalties" - just another tool used by the Anti-Tav brigade. A goal is a goal is a goal is a goal etc etc4 points

We're going through managers at some rate, these days. Sending them to a gun fight, armed with a knife has a predictable end.4 points

I'm not debating the quality of the guy, you think a guy that Southampton paid 16 million for last summer, and is probably on 70k a week is realistic target for us?4 points

Good to know that our scouting system has improved. Instead of scouring the world for top young cheap talent, we are now loading up football manager, filtering by 'England', then looking for transfer listed, free or loan available players. This is such a good strategy I'm not sure why we haven't tried it before. Cant wait to see our wage bill by the end of next summer.3 points

... I would point out that without VAR, we'd still get refereed out of a penalty at the League Cup final, and that goal against Hibs would not have counted. What VAR did was showing the blatant cheating and/or incompetence that Scottish football is infamous for (on this shore of the Clyde), on and off the pitch.3 points

Agree with @alexscottislegend a "Sir" is way over the top for Beckham. Luke Littler is an MBE for being on the darts circuit for 18 months.3 points

Best of luck Issame. Once a Ranger always a Ranger. A shame he had to move on without even a chance to say goodbye to the fans.3 points

If that is how it goes, fair play. I would suggest that spending £10m on an 18-year-old is not the model we should be following. There's far too much risk involved, and we just don't have that kind of money to spend on one player.3 points

Surely getting emotionally attached to players is half of what football is all about? I accept it's illogical and childish but if you remove emotion from football what are you left with? I'm not disputing the validity of the business model, but it's ok not to want your best players sold, even if it's inevitable.3 points

No. It is a pathetic and almost pitiful attempt by FIFA to squeeze more money out of the game. A 48 team World Cup is another bad decision, IMO.3 points

My first Rangers manager was 'Wallace 1' but the first appointment I saw happen was Greig. Spare a thought for the poor bastards who have only known a post Walter 2 society. In a lot more ways than one. First six appointments on above list span from 1954 until 1986 (32 years) Last six (before Martin) 2015 until 2025 (10 years)3 points

If RM is to continue with his style of football surely a goalkeeper who can kick the ball without scaring the shit out of us is top priority. Ball playing defenders must be high on his wanted list too, after all we must have leaked around fifteen or twenty goals more than the manky mob.3 points
