  1. But has been wrong before....
  2. Phil O'Donnell.
  3. Yes, mate, they are disclosed. they have fallen from over £4m a few years ago to under £1.9m. If we assume a profit margin of 10%, it's not huge figures we are talking about. Even if we said that we are paying 10% too much, it's still not that huge.
  4. It wouldn't be difficult to have the source rubbished if it was untrue. There have been no stories to contradict it, which suggests that there may be some truth in it.
  5. No, it's not, mate. It would be clear if the cash was being syphoned off. Yes, there are transactions between Rangers and other companies within the Murray group, but these have been falling over the last 3 years. These transactions would need to be paid for anyway whether with the Murray Group or outwith. There are questions as to whether Rangers have received best value, but the amount involved doesn't amount to millions.
  6. He's more of a left back than centre half, in my opinion. Doesn't look half the player at centre half.
  7. I also don't remember it, and I was in Scotland at the time!
  8. Agreed. Perhaps he's too busy getting articles printed in the Record about the RST.
  9. Perhaps they are using him to do their dirty work.
  10. RANGERS fans chief Jim Templeton today reacted with fury as the SPL unveiled the fixtures for the new 2008/2009 season. He branded the governing body a "complete shambles" after they handed the Ibrox side three away games out of four in the first month of the season - including trips to Pittodrie and Parkhead on either side of a potential £10m Champions League qualification decider on August 27. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/display.var.2343607.0.0.php I'm not a fan of Templeton, but good to see him making some good points. This is obviously payback for us daring to question them last season.
  11. That's what happens when you have crap sources. You know who you are.
  12. Away to Hamilton first game...
  13. Klos wasn't poor. Not as good as hately, but could never be described as poor.
  14. Out of interest, do you think he will get a harder time than Mo Johnston?
  15. What does spending £2m on a striker say about Rangers? That is where the club is nowadays and will not be spending much more on players. It's the market we have to operate in. What does buying Miller say about Rangers? Not a lot. I understand SDM amd MB were not keen on the signing but they, quite correctly, did not over-rule WS. It unfortunately says more about WS than it does about Rangers.
  16. He has now officially signed. http://www.rangers.co.uk/page/News/NewsDetail/0,,5~1326271,00.html
  17. When is it? Can't be bothered searching.
  18. Anyone else think he looks a bit like Cousin in that picture?
  19. Good question. Top side have the better goalie. Bottom side have marginally the better defence (Moore being the slightly weaker CB). The full backs are fairly evenly matched. Albertz and Gazza both give a great goal threat. Gazza is more creative, but then the other side have Laudrup to counter that. I'd rate Souness slightly above McCall, so may have to give the midfield very marginally to the top side. Top side have a target man in Hately but Mols and McCoist were better than Negri, so would go for a draw. The will to win of Goram, Gough, Souness and Hately may be the telling factor. 2-1 to the top team, but one hell of a game.
  20. Once he has signed all we can do is hope he is a success. I'm not sure what message WS will get from now on. There's hardly likely to be mass protests. If Maurice Johnston can get accepted by the 99% of the support, then I would think that Miller will as well.
  21. A statement from the RST: Last night (Wednesday 12/06/08) the Trust Board met considered the resignations on the table and has reluctantly accepted them. Those who resigned cited a variety of reasons for resigning, amongst other factors these included changing personal circumstances, professional obligations, a disagreement with the ongoing strategy of the Trust Board and differences of opinion regarding the implementation of policy regarding fans representation on the board of Rangers Football Club. Stephen Smith was elected Chairman pro tem and David Edgar will act as Vice-Chairman. This notice serves as advance notice of a Special General Meeting of the Trust requisitioned by the Board as per the rules for the purpose of appointing new Board members - date, time and venue to be announced shortly. The Trust Board wishes to make it clear that it remains committed to clarity, transparency and accountability and we view this SGM as an opportunity for members to become more engaged, and for those who share the Trusts aims and objectives to help re-energise and revitalise the organization. This meeting will be open to all current members of the Trust and we would strongly encourage all members to attend.
  22. Given the notice period and organisation required, I would suggest that an EGM was not practical given the AGM is probably only 6-10 weeks away. They may look at moving it forward? I'm also not expecting any update today. But I could be wrong on both counts.
