I actually have a bit of sympathy for the SFA here in respect of the amount of the fine. Can they start fining people based on their salary? Should that extend to day-to-day life? I recently got done for speeding and got fined £60. I'm lucky enough that I didn't think twice about the payment, but a lot of other people would find that a big hit and would miss it. Do I deserve to get fined more? However what the SFA failed to do was take account of his previous. It's not only Rangers fans he has done this to. They are showing no moral backbone due to the fuss that was made following his initial police caution and it suggests that they should not fit to hold their positions.

Not if he's playing crap for the reserves.

The guy received a police caution and has continued to reoffend on numerous occasions. It seems that the police have decided he is above the law.

Don't know him. What kind of forward is he?

Dundee Utd were the team that did the most to try and prevent us getting an extension last season, and I assume that Thompson was one of the main men behind that. If so, then I'm afraid I have little good feeling towards the guy. Like UFC, I don't mean any disrespect, but don't see any reason for the game to be called off.

Apart for the 2 Kaunus games, of course. So that's missing 5 out of 11, and missing out on most of the difficult games.

He put in £10m at the same time as Dave King and the recent £50m rights issue. The original £6m, the purchase from ENIC and any other purchases he has made over the years have gone to shareholders and not the club. He therefore may have spent more than £75m over the years, but only £60m of it has actually gone into the club, as far as I can tell.

£60m

We were not in too bad a financial position at the end of nine in a row.

I don't believe that there are any potential foreign investors. End of.

Well seeing who your friends are when it comes to exclusives....

"Contribute" in financial circles would normally mean net profit and not gross income. It's misleading at best, but what's new? I've got another question lined up for tomorrow so you can have it. May even try for two. I'll be the one holding up his good arm.

Franker, the £6.5m isn't just a throwaway comment by Nick Peel. It is in an official announcement to the stock exchange (albeit the Plus one), and therefore has legal implications. The article that Frankie quotes shows that the £6.5m equates to what you way is £1.5m. It appears that the directors may have been misleading the stock exchange which has serious implications (unless I'm missing something).

That's what I can't figure out. Where is this alleged £6.5m? Last year's income was analysed as follows: 1. Gate receipts & hospitality 25.9 2. Sponsorship & advertising 3.0 3. Broadcasting rights 5.0 4. Commercial 6.1 5. Other operating revenue 1.7 It's not in 1. and 3. 2. is from Carling, T-mobile, MBNA, CRE8, Coca-Cola, Phoenix Honda and Ladbroke. Included in 4. is the £4.5m from JJB. Looks like we have traded most of it away in the JJB deal.

Frankie, I recall that you said something about getting the vB software upgraded. Is this going to happen? I see another site has just upgraded to 3.7.3 and some of the touches are quite nice. Is there a cost to this?

It's certainly possible, mate, although I can't see their retail side being in such bad shape as that. I would have given them credit for a profit of around £2m, but your explanation means that they made a loss last year. It would be nice to think that was the case. I was thinking of a much more convoluted explanation. IFAIK Rangers still get cash from Umbro on top of the JJB deal. Can anyone confirm this?
