Not a solicitor, but I doubt that the support could take legal action. That would need to come from the club and they are never going to do that. Even if they did do it, it would be an impossible thing to prove.

Nice one. Thanks for that.

Welcome, Lazyscot. Look forward to you joining in the debates. How's the weather in Vancouver?

With the SFA's First XIV up next, is it time to dispense with 4-5-1

We did that yesterday and it didn't work. -
Very similar to my view on Thomson. Very much needed in Europe when we are playing against better opposition, but that type of player just doesn't contribute enough to the team when we are playing against inferior opposition. I'm not saying that they aren't trying, they are, it's just the type of player that they are.

He put in £9,300,000 at the same time as Dave King invested his money http://www.plusmarketsgroup.com/story.shtml?ISIN=GB0007237380/GBP/PLUS-exn&NewsID=1876, and £50,275,000 at the last rights issue. http://www.plusmarketsgroup.com/story.shtml?ISIN=GB0007237380/GBP/PLUS-exn&NewsID=20505

Murray has put £60m into the club.

Didn't see the game, and I'd love Thomson to make me eat my words.

Ecosse, sites bigger than this one have, in the past, tried to organise the support in respect of journalists and/or newspapers. The RST have also been vocal on the subject. It has worked to a certain extent, as mentioned above. However the biggest problem is the widespread apathy of the support, who are just happy turning up on a Saturday and don't read internet message boards, or if they do, they don't really care about what is written. Most are happy to buy the Record or the Sun every day, no matter what they write. Spiers has been highlighted more than most and continues to get work from the Times, (albeit at a far reduced salary than he was on at the Herald), Radio Clyde and his forthcoming new progamme on the BBC. He has been shown up on the past by David Edgar in a radio debate, but it still doesn't make much difference. For anything to be really effective, it has to be driven from the top, and SDM has shown little appetite for this unless it is made personal, although there have been a couple of signs to suggest that he may have been a little more active in this area over the past 6 months, although still not active enough. However it's good to hear your views, and don't let my current cynicism prevent you from sending an email, writing a letter or making a phone call of complaint, either to the press or to SDM. It does help, even if only a little. PS a belated welcome to the site.

Hemdani only appears in European games, so I hope we don't have to wait for our next European game before we see Edu.
-
If you are playing him in a midfield 5 as you suggest then OK, but last season he was played in a midfield with himself, Davis, Adam, Fergie and McCulloch and there was no creativity and no pace anywhere. Perhaps if we start playing with flair players then my view may change. Although Edu is defensive, it doesn't mean he can't have creativity, although I don't know anything about him.
-
I reckon that now Brown has his personal issues behind him he will be a lot better player this seeason.
-
Possibly, but the other thing is that if people stop buying the papers and they let the Editor know why then it will cumulatively have an impact. I bought the Herald religiously for over 15 years, but gave it up because of Spiers and have bought only one copy in well over 3 years (I can't remember the year I gave it up). If people do it and they have the discipline to give up a newspaper and the paper has a bigger than expected decline then it will help.
-
Don't think he offers the team that much, mate. We need our midfielders to be creative and he isn't. There are games that he plays well, or we need that type of player, but generally I'm not a huge fan. I'd much rather we had signed Brown than him.
-
Didn't know that it was only the North American version. Very low sales then, I assume. I'm hoping that he is better than Thomson and can take his place in the team.
-
I had some dialogue with the managing Director of the company that owns the Herald, complaining about Spiers. I also wrote off to the Editor. Similar experience to Frankie, although the MD did try and put up an argument, but didn't have much of an answer to my rebuttal. Ultimately Spiers did get fired so a chip, chip, chip approach together with a drop in circulation could have an impact.

How they could have refused anyone who is going to appear on the front of next year's FIFA game? Good news.

Peter Cormack, Pat Nevin and Gerry Collins were the "objective" panel.

The one thing that I couldn't understand about the banner was that Healy had apologised. Why are the GAWA then thanking him? PS Bwaahaahaa Forsyth.

Fecking arseholes.

"This is a quote that proudly demonstrates Celtic as a club open to all" Can someone remind when Celtic's first non-RC director was?
-
So is Edu but he hasn't got his work permit.
-
The deal is done but he still hasn't signed. The Rangers News would have been printed before news of the latest issue broke.

Calscot, what you say makes sense, but obviously the fans look at it differently and perhaps Walter didn't need to come out and make the statement publicly.
