  1. "The famine song is blatantly racist. People who indulge in it are making Scotland look ridiculous and they should be charged with racial hatred"

And what would you call oh ah up the RA?? So its 'ok' to glorify terrorist's?

  2. He's just doing his job. :ffs:

Interesting to see that the papers haven't persecuted Smith, Underhill, Brines, Murphy and Thomson in the same way. I wonder why that is.

There is NO way any newspaper would be allowed to persecute a RC priest in this way.

    Welcome to today's Scotland.

My thoughts exactly, I don't think its fair that the media are allowed to follow and secretly film Ref's, leave the guy to fuck alone... Tina Turner will be in the papers next for singing 'that' song.

  3. Hey porno I'm entitled to my opinion on here as much as you, my opinion is that we are attacked enough by ****s, the mhedia, our own manager and chairman without the fans chipping in their tuppence worth.

Of course you are, I hardly think my post was an 'attack' on Rangers? you have your opinion and I have mine. I'm not going to argue with you.

  4. As I said, maybe you should direct your jokes at the opposition.

Or maybe you should chill out a little... if you cant laugh at your self who can you laugh at? I'm not about to waste my time getting in to a debate with someone about a joke. some people thought it was funny and I'm sure you are not the only person who doesn't like it. If you really don't like it that much then speak to the MOD's otherwise haud yer weesht.:rfc:

  5. The Glasgow Rangers player Kirk Broadfoot has today revealed that he has been part of the Channel 4 TV show faking it for the last 3 years.

The player broke the news today at a hastily arranged press conference as it emerged new Scotland manager George Burley had drafted the " player " into his squad for the up coming world cup qualifiers.

Broadfoot who told the waiting press that he was in fact a carpet fitter from Fife said " This experience has been great but I now feel that I would totally be out of my depth and there was no way I could let the country I love so much down by pulling on the dark blue jersey"

Channel 4 have defended there decision to allow Broadfoot to move to Rangers from St Mirren.

Saints have issued a statement saying " The program makers approached us with there plan we where only to willing to be a part of there experiment we started that season with 4 or 5 new players and knew one was from the program".The only real surprise said saints boss Gus McPherson is that the player is not Will Henning considering how he has had a terrible start to the S.P.L season.

Rangers would not be drawn on the future of the player at Ibrox only saying in a short statement " Kirk has been one of our most consistent performers over the last 18 months". Gers boss Walter Smith was unavailable for comment.

The S.F.A chief Gordon Smith was quick to back Burley after some sections of the tartan army turned on the manager and pointed out what they have always know that any carpet fitter from Fife could get a game for Scotland if he worn an OLD FIRM strip.

Aberdeen where quick to reassure fans that Jamie Langfield had not also been part of the experiment.

  6. We were lucky last season, most of us knew that but we were willing to go along with it because we were getting the results. We are being found out now. big time. Apart from Liverpool, we should have beaten every team we played in pre-season with ease, but it has been an up hill struggle since the first ball was kicked. we will be doing well to get a UEFA cup spot next year.

  7. This is my 6th season going to the Rangers games ! And i have never been more annoyed with our club than i do now !!!

The first season i started going we must of ended up like 20 points behind Celtic, Ibrox was half full at the end of season games.

    I've been through that !

Benn through the high times of Helicopter Sunday, Champions League last 16, Uefa Cup final etc etc. Every moment i have lived over the last 6 season's. Although i did watch the games before that as well

I don't know how you older bears feel, but i actually disgusted, embarresed , annoyed. What ever word you can think of !!

If Cuellar goes i think that may be the last straw for me !

To be honest with you mate, tonight is the last straw for me. its been said on another thread. We have nothing to look forward to this season, even if we win the league ( which looks bloody unlikley ) its still not good enough to get beaten by a team like Kaunas.

  8. I reckon your theory is starting to take shape after that shambles tonight, Carlos can now move on and play in europe for his new club and we will be nothing more than a distant memory for him... utter disgrace the way our club is being run at the moment.

  9. Any other Rangers' supporters out there that took a perverse pleasure in the Liverpool result?

There can be no excuses. Rangers were outplayed by a squad that has something in abundance that we have in the rarest of flashes: skill.

How hard should it be to expect a professional footballer to pass a ball to a colleague? It's like expecting a doctor to be able to give an injection or diagnose death. You don't mind so much if a committed defender intercepts a pass, but when it simply goes astray you have to wonder why these guys earn more in a fortnight than many do in a year.

Charlie Adam is a fine example. He gestures like John McCrirrick on race days, then his corners either fail to clear the first defender or clear everybody. Why is he paid at all?

Weight of pass is another issue in quality teams. They generally get it right. Rangers don't, unless it's wee triangles in insignificant areas of the park where no pressure is applied. Instead, we use the "hump it forward and chase" technique, a strategy fatally flawed when there's only one target and five defenders.

We managed to take a corner on Saturday and within about five seconds we'd contrived, unassisted by Liverpool, to have McGregor in possession!

So what positives might we take from the game?

#1. Brahim Hemdani was the only player that appeared composed during the humiliation.

#2. Kyle Lafferty looks a big, strong character with some ability. Why is he playing on the left wing though? His success has been as a striker with Northern Ireland so playing him out of position seems foolish.

#3. Kirk Broadfoot, given a chance, will become a very decent centre-back for Rangers. Sure he made a stray pass that had unfortunate consequences but there were very many stray passes from Rangers' players. He was a poor but committed right back. In his correct position, he can become an asset if the boo-boys let him.

#4. Kris Boyd was like an armless man at a banquet. It wasn't that he couldn't eat or that he lacked appetite; nobody fed him.

#5. An opportunity has been presented to Smith and McCoist that spells out a simple fact: if you do not pose an attacking threat against a quality team, you'll get humped. Starting with Miller and Novo... not really my idea of a serious attacking threat.

#6. Whittaker... a decent performance. He has potential if he's played in the correct position.

    The negatives...

#1. Miller... apart from one decent pass, he did nothing, but did it with enthusiasm. A mistake bringing him back, and that judgement is not Celtic-influenced.

#2. McCulloch... Words fail me. I do not understand why the man is at Ibrox. I wouldn't let him bang the drum in the band.

#3. Darcheville... Like wringing out a dry cloth.

#4... No, that'll do. Kicking a dead horse isn't cruel, but it is pointless.

I fear that unless Smith adopts a positive team formation against Kaunas, we will struggle to get through. If he fails, his days are numbered and he will have no one to blame but himself.

    ***************************************************

The above was copied from BBC forum and I think it is an excellent read.

  10. I heard talked about yesterday as possible signings were :

    1/ Shaun Maloney and

    2/ Darren Fletcher

Heard that we have bid £1M for Maloney and that we are looking at taking Fletcher on loan for a season (he turned down the chance of moving to Birmingham yesterday).

    Cammy F

I heard about the Maloney story a few months back before the window even opened, but, I dont think he'd come to Rangers... He'd be most welcome IMO if he did and I wonder if he'd get the same treatment from the BOO boys that Miller has if he did come??

  14. Im going to be the 3rd person to agree fully on this thread.

The quality of our team is well below expectations and this goes back to last season. People are stating its only pre season but our level of performances have been awful. Yet we'll go back to playing in the SPL and beating terrible teams like Kilmarnock, St Mirren etc etc and everyone will think everything is rosey in the garden.

The options we have in midfield are terrible. Losing Barry Ferguson is a blow but in hindsight its a wake up call to the fact we need some better players in and cant (and shouldnt) have to rely in 1 player.

I cant get my head round signing strikers without letting them go rather than bringing in midfielders. Id much rather have went for Varynen, Davis and Lovenkrands aswell as Madjid at the back. Those first 3 players would have given us something much different when going forward.

EDIT: And for those who think stating the facts are wrong (being negative), please tell us who you expect to come into the team and start creating things for us. I know we have until the end of the month to sign a midfielder but by Tuesday it could all be to late in Europe, I bet quite a few are not totally confident about Tuesdays 2nd leg. WS should have sorted out the midfield in July.

To those wishing to state facts. This time last season we beat a full strength Chelsea 2-0 at Ibrox with a team that WS inherited from PLG, this time around with the team that WS has put together we got stuffed by a Liverpool 3rd string...

  15. The positivity of following Rangers seems to be ebbing away bit by bit over the summer. At present we're without decent fullbacks who can get forward, no wingers in midfield who can take(and beat) their opposite numbers and more importantly no midfielder who can control the game or routinely take the ball forward and create something for the strikers.

Cousin who I think is best striker at Rangers (with the exception of Velicka who is still to prove himself) is no where near the last 2 team selections. Boyd hasnt got a chance in the present set-up, he needs a constant supply of quality deliveries into the box which I cant see happening with the players at disposal. Cousin/Velicka seem the only option to attack defences. Even then its folly to rely on them without decent support from midfield.

Signing Davis would be a start but we still need at least 1 or better two attacking wingers to drag this team into something resembling a potent attacking side. Hopefully Wednesday and today have had the effect on the exposing the glaring weaknesses to those in charge and kick starting the effort in sorting it out

If these additions aren't made then im dreading the coming season as potentially we could be out of europe and suffering a irretrievable deficit in the league before key players come back from injury.

Im far from confident about this teams chances on Tuesday and if we lose and forfeit any decent CL income then the whole season is a failure before its even begun. Thomson, Cuellar and McGregor will be made available to be sold on to scrape back the losses.

Apologies for the negativity but im completely fed up about the current squad

Agree 100% with the post and also with the reply before mine. Having just watched the Liverpool game on LFC TV, we were awful to say the least. Something needs to be done.... Fast :rfc:

  16. He certainly showed he was one of our better players against Kaunas, however, he also showed he still has the "knack" of not scoring.

He'll only win over the fans with a bit of both.

In fairness, thats why I think Boyd would be a perfect partner, Complain about boyd not doing any work, but he will score a bucket load, Miller cant score but by god he'll run all night for you and create chances... all we need now is for WS to notice this!!!
