  1. Seems like a veil of silence has been drawn over this one. I just hope that the club are giving him every chance to get fit, or else his career is really over. I can only assume that's nothing's been said because there is that slim chance.
  2. I would like to see Aaron, Edu, Fleck getting a game but who else would you have in the team ? Maybe Jordan McMillan for this game. Chance for Burke (ok know he's had chances but has been injured)
  3. Yeh, but are you really bothered about the CIS cup? I know we struggled last time out, but I'd much rather see the promising youth we keep hearing about get a runout than win a competition that has nowadays very little kudos. If Arsenal Wenger can do it, then so can we.
  4. WS has already announced that he won't make sweeping changes for this one. Why the hell not? What better chance to showcase Fleck, Aaron, Edu while at the same time time giving a chance for rehabilitation to Burke and Adam for instance? Sod the result - the league is the only competition this season that matters, and while I have a soft spot for the Jags, we should be able to beat them with whatever team we put out.
  5. Wonder if we could have another Hutton on our hands. Delighted because all those on his back will now have to eat their words. I'll never forget just after we signed him he nutmegged Barry F. in a game at Love Street!
  6. Noticed that Carlos was on the bench for Villa yesterday. Is this going to be his role, I wonder? Can't believe that Davies and Laursen would be considered better players. If this is to be his lot, I wonder if he will regret his decision to leave as that can hardly improve his chances of getting a game for Spain. Also, I wonder if the situation is the same come June, if we could sneak him back - just imagine a pairing of Cuellar and Bougherra, and don't forget Majid may not have been signed as a direct replacement, but as a supposed complementary CB. Just a thought.
  7. That's a really good point and I'd have to agree that players have different styles which can be misunderstood. However, with regard to Cousin, I think it was his actions (headbutting etc) and his off-field comments about wanting to go to the Prem which alienated most of us.
  8. Once you get the site, then what do you do? Do you have to sign up? sorry my IT skills are stone age.
  9. Pre-Mendes we could see how much Barry was missed. I actually agree with BOTH sides of the argument here - those who are pro-Barry and those who want to see him punted. Competition for his place - and remember we could play Davis and Mendes in the centre - is just what's needed to settle the argument once and for all.
  10. If true, this is terrible news. I actually think pre-injury he was showing more potential than Hutton. But why won't the club just come clean and tell us? I think the old Kremlin were more communicative than Rangers F.C.
  11. But would we then have beaten Aalborg?
  12. That's a great point there about the U.S. DJBlue. If the Devil's Xl can go hawking themselves in the Far East, we need to tap in to the great Rangers diaspora (lot of supporters' clubs in Canada and Australia including my cousin and his son.)
  13. Yeh, but he could have stayed at Portsmouth - it's not as though they didn't want him. Also he's 29. We could have him for the best of his peak years.
  14. Difference this time is that Pedro signed for us KNOWING there would be no Euro football this year.
  15. Tannochside - I remember Souness being in contention, but many were against him because of his abrasive style. He would have fallen out with too many players. Can you imagine him upsetting say Faddy and McGregor? I actually think Levein would be a good choice but at the time he was keen to show loyalty to dundee U. the same as McGhee wouldn't walk out on M'well.
  16. Agree with you re Steven Fletcher and Miller in attack - worth a try. The other Fletcher worries me though - he is alsmost guatanteed to give cheap possession away. The right flank is our problem position at the moment - don't fancy Brown there.
  17. Unfortunately that 'limited ability ' tag looks set to follow Kirk the rest of his career. Hearing him speak on the radio afterwards showed me that he has the perfect attitude, though. Really hope this will get the detractors off his back; doubt it though. That insult could actually turn out to be the best thing that's happened to him.
  18. Broadfoot has just scored! GIRUY all your detractors.
  19. Fraser - Morrison's not fit. Notice you're "British and Scottish." Nice one. But just one 't' in 'British'!
  20. I'm not against the saltires, lions rampants etc. - I was referring to the St. George's flags and the overkill when England are in a competition finals. I just don't think we should be small-minded enough to allow our club affiliations to affect our wish for the national team to do well. I'd like to know, for example, who should be playing instead of McManus, assuming Weir and Webster are not available. Hand on heart, I couldn't say I would rather Weir took McManus' place; the guy may play for THEM but he wins a lot of last-ditch tackles and headers.
  21. My God! Jimmy Shand. You must remember the White Heather Club, Frankie.
  22. In theory, yes. But just look at the scoring stats. of Lafferty and Miller and think about them together!
