  1. I think that's a great idea. We're often a bit pessimistic and cynical here on Gersnet, but I think, with the size of United's squad they could be persuaded to let him go on loan. SAF obviously rates him highly enough to repel any offers for him, even when he rarely gets a game. And he doesn't seem to be appreciated by the Old Trafford fans.
  2. No idea. Evening Times may say if you check their website, but I imagine they would fly out today.
  3. Get along to their training camp and wave your shopping list at WS and Ally. The Dutch market was always a happy hunting groung for us before, Van Vossen and Konterman notwithstanding.
  4. Actually if we could get Mozart from, CSKA Moskow is it? - we could make sweet music with Mozart and Mantovani in midfield. long as we don't spoil it with Shittu.
  5. There you go again! WS played Gattuso, remember? Keep the faith.
  6. Think you're being a bit negative. Injury only a 2 week job I hear. Still how many setbacks has he suffered? Hope it's not an Alan McLaren scenario. There'll always be that doubt over him until he gets a proper run in the side.
  7. Three into two won't go and those of us who fancy a Davis-Thomson midfield axis may get the chance to road test it now. With BF in the frame, Davis may have got punted out to the right again. Other option is young Furman.
  8. What the hell is going on in training these days? Maybe PLG had a point about players tackling too hard in training! Seriously though, this is no joke.
  9. Well, you wanted more attacking football! Not like you to be cynical, Pete.
  10. Yes, Steven Whittaker. Was originally signed seemingly as a wide right midfielder, but played for Hibs mostly at RB. And he's not really had a run for us at RB yet.
  11. What about Rafael Scheidt of C****c? What a half-back line that would be - Arzo, Shittu and Shite.
  12. Think I can see some Rangers videos. Too much watching 5-4-1 could make you go blind as well.
  13. If you can read that there's no porn in that bookcase from this distance then there's nothing wrong with your eyesight! So it doesn't make you go blind after all!
  14. He is exactly the sort of player we're looking for now, in fact.
  15. Could we really? Thought he was Barca bound. Or are you just being flippant?
  16. This Shittu rumour just won't go away. I'm distinctly underwhelmed. What do we want him for when Webster's back in full training and Weir has re-signed? Oh no - he's not being lined up to replace Carlos is he? Please God, no...
  17. Don't want to get too heavily into conspiracy theories but after the 9/11 fire they apparently found - among all the charred remains - an immaculate passport of the pilot?
  18. Everybody is right about the flair player, but please, please tell me WHO is available whom we could (a) afford and (b) would come to us? Even if we save the £4m Davis cash can anyone give me names? Answers on a postcard please...
  19. Seems our best option is to stick Beasley on the right, BF and Thomson in MF, maybe Lafferty on the left and wait until someone suitable for CM/RW is available
  20. If that's truly the case, then it's really depressing. A sign of hope is the Lafferty signing, plus there have been strong intimations that young Fleck will get his chance.
  21. ^ You yourself have mentioned Herenveen as a role model for us and there's no doubt for me this is the way forward for RFC. It's either about finding promising young talent and selling them on when the time is right, or we have to be content with 30+ signings looking for a last payday - and I for one don't want see Ibrox become an elephant's graveyard. Disagree about Weir and Dailly though - they're just there as squad players. Don't see why Aaron Ramsey is outwith our reach though - we could probably guarantee him first team football which is something he might not see at Arsenal for years. Walcott flits in and out and his club still get linked with big name players.
  22. Agree, it is a strange one. If SS was back to anything like the form he showed pre-injury, then with him and Papac we'd be sorted at LB.Hate to say this, but it's beginning to sound like WS has his favourites regardless of ability and if you displease him, you're out in the cold. Look at Gow and Buffel for further evidence. And if you say Gow and Buffel were out because of their lack of ability, then no one can say that about Smith.
  23. Fulham want £4m. If we can't offload Cousin I'm not sure we'll go the extra mile for him TBH. And if we don't, who else does WS have lined up for a creative midfielder?
  24. Is that 'schholboy' - or someone who wears a special kind of footwear?
