    BBC Scotland are reporting : Salmonella cases linked to Celtic Park. A salmonella outbreak in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, and Highland areas has been linked to hospitality at Celtic Park. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde(GGC) said 11 people who had eaten at the stadium on 21 September, the day Celtic had played Motherwell, had fallen ill. The Health Board said all 11 cases were recovering in the community. Glasgow City Council's Environmental Health Department are content with food production within Celtic Park kitchens and the investigation is focusing on external sources. Glasgow City Council's continuing loyalty is impressive and I hope Peter rewards them with tables of free hospitality for their up coming Christmas lunch. Talking of external sources, I note the Evening Times is reporting 17 arrests last evening, both inside and outside ground at the Europa Cup group match. Sounds like a riot? Keith Jackson will not have the opportunity to report one way or other, ra Sellik have banned him today. You are what you read!

    If the traffic cones are required to remain static during the 90 minutes, I fancy us to beat them quite comfortably . If they are allowed to be repositioned every couple of minutes, it could be close. I suppose it's dependent upon the pre-match cone-tract.

    STV reporting both Boyd and Mohsni have been offered two match suspensions for separate off the ball incidents on Monday evening. The Compliance Officer is quite correct in both regards. I can recall both incidents from the match, as yet I have not watched TV highlights.

    Mohsni pulls on the Rangers jersey, I support him throughout the duration of his time on the pitch. However, as for cult status; I fear the third letter is the wrong consonant.

    Zappa, Thanks for that, I listened again, having heard it live two weeks past. Cosgrove is strident as per usual during the clip, but it's not the smoking gun referred to by Spiers. These last two years, BBC Radio Scotland has broadcast a 30 minute show, Thursday 13.00-13.30hrs, hosted by John Beattie, contributions by Cosgrove and Eamon O'Neill. It is a media watch piece, specifically looking at how news is gathered, edited, and reported. The stimulation for the show was the two year build-up to the referendum and provides a window of opportunity for Cosgrove in current affairs. I have listened to most of them, Cosgrove never missed, often breathless on the show's introduction. Remember, he works in London for Channel 4, this show was extremely important to Cosgrove. Yesterday, it's the first such show after the referendum and it's Beattie and O'Neill, with no explanation as to Cosgrove's absence. Topics discussed were the referendum result, perceived BBC bias, Salmond's resignation, and the George Square rammy. Thus, did Cosgrove remove himself because of lack of self-discipline, or has BBC Scotland removed him hors de combat? He may be damaged goods because of his interventions during the referendum build-up. We should be told. If any Gersnetter has any information on Cosgrove's 'sailing extremely close to the wind', please share, I would be most grateful.

    Frankie, I am a self-confessed Luddite. Does this mean, he only corresponds with a select few? How does Spiers know what he tweeted? I think he will feel Spiers has betrayed a confidence; however, one journo joining and encouraging the mob against another Journo is surely verboten?

    Frankie, There was a most interesting exchange of views on BBC Radio Scotland's, 'Off the Ball' on Saturday last. Cosgrove and Spiers were presenting, as Cowan is holidaying in Las Vegas. Cosgrove began by introducing Spiers as, "the acceptable face of unionism", continued the barbs throughout by asking, "do you still wear your union jack slippers bought from ASDA"? After 15 minutes or so, Spiers hit back with questioning Cosgrove's conduct during the Yestapo's flash mob antics at Pacific Quay ie a couple of thousand protesters with a dozen full colour placards depicting BBC Political Editor, Nick Robinson's image. Spiers was specific in flagging-up Cosgrove's social media contributions to the anti-BBC Scotland protest. Spiers set out Cosgrove's 20 years working at BBC Scotland and concluded his comments reference colleagues and the institution, "sailed extremely close to the wind". Cosgrove weakly countered that he knew the management and people involved and he was in no doubt that bias had prevailed. Spiers replied, "really Stuart, really"? At this point, the show's Producer intervened and instructed them to move the discussion on to another topic. Remember, Bears held 3 protests in just over a calendar year at Pacific Quay because of our perception of BBC Scotland bias. Cosgrove led the charge to sneer and ridicule Rangers supporters for their actions. Even after Alex Thomson insulted the victims of the Ibrox Disaster by YouTubing John Greig's statue walking away from the plinth, Cosgrove, Channel 4's Director for Diversity, protected their company asset, Alex Thomson by leading him through a rehearsed 40 minute Q and A, pleading ignorance. The next day, Thomson was utilising social media to call all Rangers supporters, 'Daleks', knowingly so, because they cannot negotiate stairs either. It's the principle and big Stu' puts himself out there as a doyen of sanctimonious piety, Cosgrove sneers and ridicules one bodies sensitivities, but is most supportive of another. It is the very epitome of sitting extremely comfortable with a preferred prejudice. I would be most interested if any Gersnetter could utilise social media to find out exactly what he tweeted about BBC Scotland and Nick Robinson? I do not use the means myself, I suspect it to be insecure. I would be grateful for the information because I think Cosgrove may have lost his discipline big time and handed Rangers supporters a most useful lever.

    Neil MacKay did an autobiographical essay a while back, it was entitled, "My middle name is Patrick". He is from Nothern Ireland and is the product of a mixed marriage. It mirrors Elaine C(for Sellik) Smith's conditioning; rc side of family compassionate, warm, and supportive, whereas prod half were spiteful, cold, and sneering. He is a product of his conditioning and regularly spits venom at those he perceives to be associated with one half of his family. I know Gersnet are most sensitive to the consequences of last week's referendum, and quite right too. I am desperate for the Rangers support to remain as much a collective as possible. I offer the following information as a factual contribution to D'Art's current problem. The blogger, 'the man the beasts cannot tame' is often a difficult read, most interesting content but difficult presentation. His research is detailed, and he provides a run down of those in George Square(including photos) in the immediate minutes before the confrontation. It's a rag-tag and bob-tail of characters hitching aboard the Yes campaign wagon. If a newspaper wanted to amplify those involved, it's a screaming headline. MacKay happened to be in the square with fellow like-minded journos and decided to amplify an unedifying sequence of events into a full blown riot. He has fashioned a tool which has been utilised by both First and Deputy Minister. A component of said tool was manufactured by MacKay by deliberately using preferred prejudice to edit D'Art's piece to suit. The Sunday Herald are willing participants. I wish D'Art good fortune in this quest, I suspect he will need it as the demonization aspect appears well developed in MacKay.

    On Saturday, I listened to Cosgrove lionise Dundee United. They are the Yes club from Yes City. Their Chairman, Stephen Thompson came out last Monday, supporting a Yes vote and urging club supporters to follow his lead. In excess of 40% of Dundonians voted No, many of those will be United fans, how do they feel? I suspect they will quietly continue to follow their team. Let's take this rationale to it's conclusion. Tommy Sheridan is in this morning's Herald, urging everyone to join the SNP. Thus, a Trot' socialist is succumbing to the warm waters of nationalism. The Sunday Post has submitted a FOI request reference the First Minister's meetings with Rupert Murdoch. Apparently, Eck has met Rupert on more occasions than all other party leaders put together. So, Tommy wants everyone to join the party led by the guy desperate to solicit the support of an Australian octogenarian that put Tommy in the tin pail. What team should Tommy support?

    I can empathise with the OP too. I voted No in the referendum, and no, I do not think I was duped. I was disgusted by the way the more extreme elements in the Yes campaign(the Yestapo) claimed the sole right to the Saltire. It's my flag too. Similarly, those Unionists that indulged in triumphalism upon George Square do not own the Union flag, that's my flag too. Twenty years ago, I began a journey of disengaging from physical support of the national team. I continue to want Scotland to win every game, although my support is very much from the armchair. Boing Rangers players, Iain Ferguson, Barry Ferguson, and most recently, Ian Black has become a habit to the Tartan Army. Blaming Rangers for all Scottish football's ills has become compulsory, and again being told continually that ALL Bears support England, has confirmed my disengagement. However, Scotland remains my country and my team. The actions of several hundred(police figures) fellow Scots waving flags aggressively at each other in George Square should not deter the majority of us from getting on supporting our team and country in whatever way we find most comfortable.

    I note the Tartan Army are proposing NOT to join in with the national anthem, 'the Flower of Scotland' before the next Euro international against Georgia at Ibrox. Apparently, the line, 'and be a nation again' is now redundant in light of yesterday's referendum result. A new national anthem is urgently required and the rabid Rangers hating website, Pie and Bovril are considering hosting an opinion poll on the matter. I suggested Dougie McLean's 'Caledonia', preferably sung by Frankie Miller. A perfect fit for Ibrox since Frankie's grandfather was Archie Kyle. An inside forward that played five seasons at Rangers over a century past, very popular and whisper it, a catholic. Remember, we didn't sign any until MoJo. I offered Andy Stewart's 'Donald, whaurs yer troosers', most fitting and in keeping with the determined East of Brigadoon chic adorned by the vast majority of the Tartan Army. Finally, I inquired as to the acceptability of a really catchy anthemic tune beloved at the old stadium, 'the Billy Boys'? The barstewards deleted my post. I was trying to be helpful too.

    I believe ICT have both Shinnie and Draper suspended for this game, as such their midfield might be lacking. Yogi is playing mind games by making us favourites. ICT fans are not on message, they appear highly confident of replicating the Arabs two in two demolitions.

    I thank everyone for their contributions. I am driving at eg, our goalkeeping situation. Bell picks up an injury and Simonsen is back-up; we have further back-up in the lad, Kelly. If further belt and braces is deemed necessary(and it would appear, it was), then we sign Lee Robinson on a contract. Why did we not sign a temporary loan deal for 4 months to tide us over and save dosh? Again, happy to see the debate taking shape on past loan signings; but why have we shied away from loan signings these last two and a bit years? I suspect every other senior club in Scottish football has at least one loan signing.

    I know we have a dozen or so players out on loan to other clubs, been a pretty consistent feature of the club during the on going turmoil. Currently, are we recipients of any loan players? Have we been recipients of any loan players in the last two and a bit seasons? I ask, because I don't think we have any loan signings and this must be unique in the Scottish/British game. Why we would we not bring in a few loan signings?

    Increasingly, I find one has to anaesthetize oneself before facing the Gersnet music. This last week, and next, I am resident on the Ile D'Oleron. A dozen Huitres are 7 euros, a bottle of red wine vinegar is 2 euros, a demi-kilo of charlottes is under a euro, and the local Rose(takes 3-4 glasses to begin to find an appreciation) is under 2 euros a bottle. There is an Oleronaise custom of morning beer too, works for me. I suspect it's a rehydration thing? Anyways, after morning beer and a robust oyster and rose lunch; Gersnet is just another cork waiting to be pulled.
