  1. Goldson badly controls a simple pass and has to foul Cosgrove who was ready to pounce. Thankfully the ball was out nearer the sidelines 20 yards out, if it had been central he might have been carded. We defend the free kick easily enough.
  2. For those not able to view, some neat passing plays Morelos through on an angle but his shot is a poor one straight at Lewis and without any real pace, but somehow Lewis fumbles it straight into the path of Ryan Jack who was following in for a tap in into an empty net. And he really enjoyed the goal as he danced past the Dolly fans to celebrate in front of the Bears.
  3. Seems we were just taking a breather for a minute! Lewis won’t want to see that again, what a clanger. Morelos shoulder charged off the ball by Dolly no14, but instead of hitting back, he falls to the ground clutching his injured wrist. Clever play from Alfie. Cosgrove now booked for another stupid foul. Long overdue.
  4. 2-0 Jack punishes a disaster from Lewis
  5. The pace has fallen out of our play a bit since the goal. Jack has given the ball away in really bad positions twice in last couple of minutes but thankfully Dolly couldn’t capitalise. Need to keep pushing here until game is safe.
  6. Andy Wanker is totally miffed that we are so dominant, which is always nice! ”I thought Aberdeen would be so up for this but they can’t string two passes together” Lovely!
  7. It sure was, beautiful football from them.
  8. Lovely move, Aribo nicks the ball in midfield and an inch-perfect pass to Arfield who finishes with a lovely first touch shot guided into bottom corner giving keeper no chance. Just what we deserved.
  9. Cosgroves 4th foul in 14 minutes brings just a warning from cheating Beaton.
  10. First yellow to Logan for an assault on Aribo at corner flag.
  11. Morelos pounces on some slack defending and powers in a shot which forces a decent save. Totally dominant so far.
  12. 3 minutes in and Dolly have committed 3 fouls, 2 of which should have been yellow cards. As I speak a fourth foul for a two handed shove by Cosgrove which could also have been a yellow albeit a soft one. 5 mins in now and 5 fouls. Dolly playing their usual brand of anti-football.
  13. Partial stadium closure for the bheasts for Rennes game. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50553235
  14. Great article and an interesting discussion piece. I never thought I would see the day I would agree, even in apart, with Jim McInally, but I cant see the advantage to current League 1 & 2 clubs to having a Rangers youth team in their league. I can see some benefit to our club, but even at that it is not a decent level so it does not prepare our young players for our first team. It is not as if we are going to take large crowds to these games, as they are going to clash with our first team games most of the time. Until such times as we can square this circle and find a benefit to lower league clubs to a similar extent to the benefit to us, I cant see this happening in our country. I can see the attraction in fielding a side in the Irish league given the following we have in that part of the world, but similarly I cant see huge crowds going to these games there when our colts team is essentially U18s and nowhere near first team action, so i dont see that the existing clubs will gain a great deal from it. Would be very interesting indeed to hear the views of someone like Murty on this possibility, and also some Irish league owners as well.
  15. Proof that you can make stats say pretty much anything you want. So a couple of hundred successful passes from side to side in the final third, the vast majority of which will be of no consequence to getting a shot at goal, but hey lets make a table of this stat and pretend it is actually meaningful in some way. If there is a further column in this research which tells you how many goals were scored from this possession, then that may actually be of some significance, but without it it's completely irrelevant. Still, its another lazy story to fill a page in a dead newspaper. I feel all dirty as I actually clicked it to see what the hell they were on about. All I will concede is at least the writer had the decency to say that it doesnt do you any good with Man City lying 4th in their league despite having all this final third possession.
  16. I know this wasnt you @ian1964 and you were just passing info on, but having spoken to an officer in attendance on Saturday, the only reason the police had to go in was because some wee neds in the UB decided to try to SET FIRE to a Wrexham flag that they had stolen from our Welsh guests in a pub pre-game. They were quite happy to let things go until that point, when for supporter and stadium safety they had to go in. What in the world would make our supporters want to burn a flag INSIDE our ground, with plastic seating all around? I sincerely hope those responsible are identified and given life bans. I'm sure I speak or the vast majority of Rangers fans when I say we do not want people like this in our ground or supporting our club.
  17. He played 71 minutes of a 4-2 win.
  18. Yes, and no in that order!
  19. The fixture in question would be us at St Mirren while the bheasts entertain St Johnstone in round 32 of fixtures. Postponing this might not cause us or the bheasts much hassle, but with there only being one further round of fixtures before the split, when would any postponed games be rearranged for in order to ensure the split can be done on time?
  20. After reading the Times story about the HMRC, and given how much BBC Scotland across all platforms gave so much air time, website space etc to chastising our club about our tax bill and the company's liquidation, it is absolutely no surprise to see that there is absolutely nothing, nada, zilch about this story on their website today. The biggest story in Scottish news and sport today is clearly this huge story about the country's biggest club being incorrectly chased and subsequently relegated due to a huge debt which it appears was now nowhere near as huge or terminal. You would think it would be all over it in the interests of balance and fairness. Not a thing.
  21. We would be out as the first rule in a 3 way tie is to deduct the points won against the 4th placed team, and in your scenario where we beat the Dutch but lose to YB and Porto win their 2 games we would be left with just 4 points and be eliminated.
