  1. SG cant play for our legends team as he hasnt played for us. I have no problem with him playing for Liverpool legends if he is inclined to do so. I tihnk its a bit silly for us to organise a game against Liverpool legends when our current manager will be playing against our own guys. Do Rangers fans boo him if he scores or puts in a Gerrard-like meaty tackle? Do we cheer if one of our own takes him out? Its a no-win situation that should have been best avoided until he has moved on from being our manager. Arranging another friendly match at Ibrox (the 5th in 11 weeks) on top of 5 European home matches with another 2 expensive tickets to come in the next month or so is taking the piss out of our loyal supporters. At the very earliest this should have been in the winter break or next Spring. Could we not have played them down there if we had to play them at all? Never been to a legends game and never will so its not affecting me in the slightest but some fans will have pressure from kids to go to this and I feel we are exploiting our fans a bit with these games.
  2. Only 2 changes from Thursday is a surprise. Thought Defoe would definitely start but a very strong lineup so hopefully we can continue the level of intensity today and get a comfortable victory.
  3. Seems mostly fair enough, a bit harsh on Arfield who i thought was back to his best last night and work tirelessly at the pressing and closing down, stole the ball a few times from them and got up to assist Morelos far more often than Ojo did who was playing the same position on the other flank. I also thought Jack was blowing out his backside with 20 mins to go and that Davis was far more influential on the game than Jack and would have had them round the other way, but the two you gave the least to in Tav & Goldson was correct as both had poorer games than the rest. As 2 of the back 4, in a tough European game and against very good opponents, a clean sheet would normally cut defenders some slack, but not at our club! Be good to see the numbers throughout the year going forward.
  4. I want 6 votes please! Finding it really hard to pick between McGregor, Barasic, Helander, Davis Arfield & Morelos, with Jack just a shade behind along with Ojo (for goal) & Kamara with only Goldson & Tav below par for me. Going into injury time I was between Arfield & Davis, but on reflection the clean sheet is what won us the game against a potent attack, and for several important saves I’m going for Shagger.
  5. Absolutely loved that performance, attitude, atmosphere, and result tonight. Fantastic performances throughout the the team with special mentions for McGregor, Barasic, Helander, Davis, Arfield and Morelos. It it was always going to take 9/10 performances from at least 8 of our players to get anything against a top side, and we really delivered tonight! I thought Feyenoord started brilliantly, some of their really quick pass and move stuff in first 10 mins was an absolute joy to watch, albeit from through my fingers! We managed to get over that fast start and got a break with the penalty which Tav, who had a stinker, committed the cardinal sin of not hitting the target, and after Arfield hits the bar with a cracker I was starting to think it was going to be a painful lesson, but our high pressing really shook the Dutch and created our goal for us by being hungrier in two tackles with Kamara & Barasic both winning crucial 50/50s and setting up Ojo for a special finish. Could have been home and hosed by half time but that wouldn’t be Rangers, so a nervy ending was always on the cards. Only negative for me was poor use of subs again when our guys had ran their legs off and we should have freshened things up much quicker. But overall another memorable European victory to add to the memory banks, thanks SG & the team!
  6. As is right and proper, a minutes silence was perfectly well observed to note the passing of a former player. I don’t get, and will never join in, this minutes applause nonsense. And as for stopping the game to join in, what a lot of tosh. Get on with it! Clapping because someone one has died is extremely distasteful in my opinion, and I will never be able to bring myself to applaud someone’s death. I heard sporadic clapping on the 17 minute mark on Saturday as well and was later told a 17 year old fan had died. While that again is dreadful to hear about, clapping in the middle of a game is not the time nor place nor way that this should be noted. With our worldwide fanbase we could be clapping every minute of every game for Bears who have died, where does it end? I am delighted to hear the club will be picking up the tab for Fernandos funeral, one less thing for his family to worry about during this awful time.
  7. One of the worst diseases imaginable, he fought it with courage. Hope his family find some condolence from the messages they will receive from the Rangers family.
  8. Cheers Frankie, I thought my technophobe tendencies had struck again!
  9. That link doesn’t go to this weeks show?
  10. That’s twice out of 5 games we have faced a side who have had 2 weeks to practice their brick wall formation and we have struggled badly on both occasions. The one really positive thing is we won both games, but I don’t see a marked difference in tactics or style about us from last year, perhaps a little more hunger but nothing much obvious has changed. The crowd has to be far more patient and understanding in these types of games, I thought we (the fans in attendance) were terrible from about 20 minutes in, some of the shouts from around me were insane, and I must admit I have had a go at Ojo for hiding and having no appetite for the game, so I take this to myself as well as the other 50k that collectively in games like this we will get better results if we can back the team throughout, even when they are Colin nish. Players like Ojo & Aribo seem to be confidence based players. If they start well, they have a good game. If they don’t, and we are not winning, they are passengers. They have talent but do they have the right desire? Was good to see Barker get a chance today and he has laid a claim to see more game time for sure after a confident positive showing. With Jones & Kent going to be out for a few weeks and Ojo out of touch, there should be opportunities for him coming up, I hope he takes them.
  11. While I am a huge Morelos fan he missed a good few chances today and so for me was just pipped to MOTM by Davis, the one player who tried to drive us on, make forward passes, tackled well and also had the liabilities around him to contend with today that were Aribo and Ojo, who were both honking until we got 2-1 ahead. I’m sorry guys but you can’t hide until the games won then start to play. i thought our whole back 4 defended terribly for having such little work to do they all made mistakes and you could easily change 3 out of the 4 for Thursday and they couldn’t complain. Our marking at set pieces was frightening and I was wondering if this was the same side who defended brilliantly against Legia just 2 games ago? Not a classic and nobody would have got more than a 7/10 from me, with some getting considerably less.
  12. The question here is did the bheast players who played 90 mins on the Sunday also do the double session on Tuesday. If they did, SG’s argument is wrong, but if they didn’t, serious questions have to be asked of Clarke?
  13. Oh I most certainly am looking forward to these matches and I am fortunate enough to be able to afford this package easily enough but it will be tougher for many bears to find this cash on top of everything else.
  14. Pretty steep, £37 a pop WITH the season ticket discount. Guess we know what’s paying for Kent!

  16. Kent really needs to step up his game this season. A hugely over value transfer fee of £6.5M with add ons and no doubt a massive wage to go with it means there are no longer any excuses for one good performance in 3, he has to nail it 9 out of ten as we are paying for a finished product not a work in progress. The signings of Ojo and Barker are completely wasteful now and both need to be released in Jan. With Dodoo, Dorrans & Holt all going out the door we have probably broke even with Kent’s wages so we have failed to reduce our wage budget at all in this last month which worries me greatly.
  17. Evening Times now reporting Rangers have had a bid accepted by Liverpool for Ryan Kent. If we have spunked anything over £3M on this one player in a position we are well covered for, it will be really poor squad management from our DOF/Board. By all means have add-ons etc, but his stats didnt prove he is worth anything like that amount of money and is perhaps a panic measure after a really poor performance yesterday.
  18. I would prefer it we ignored the scumbag completely, I believe he would hate that even more as he loves nothing more than to think we hate him and are obsessed by him. By ignoring him completely, coupled with thumping his team by a handsome margin, we would be hurting him even more, and that would be sweet.
  19. Quite possibly @Bill, I hope not but quite possibly. Last night was really poor, I cannot think he will retain his shirt for Sunday when Jones provided a perfect cross for the winner.
  20. I understand completely mate, I feel your pain!
  21. Thats really poor planning on your part @Frankie, do you not know that is what June is for? And failing that, January or the international breaks!! Part-timer!
  22. Katic miles ahead of anyone else last night, a Gough-esque performance and I can give no higher praise than that. If he puts in the same performance on Sunday, we will probably win the game. Jack is relishing this playmaker role, he sees a lot of the ball and while most of it is simple, (get it, move forward with it and give it) its amazing how if it is so simple we have struggled to find someone to do it as well. However I thought he was too safe last night, too tight, just like most of his teammates, although he was clearly the standout midfielder and second best player behind Katic. I was disappointed in Aribo last night, he just couldnt get in and influence the game, but the player that really annoyed me was Ojo. When he has pace, power and skill to attack an opponent, why on earth did he continually go and hide in midfield. Overall really proud of the team effort to get us through, it is a really magnificent achievement to get through 4 rounds of qualifiers, 3 of which we were unseeded, and gets us an Autumn of European football to look forward to.
  23. Will all depend how seriously these teams take this "diddy Thursday cup". Some are far more concerned with league positioning and trying to qualify for the Champions League, so often dont field their top side if they have a difficult league match upcoming. Hated going to Feyenoord back in 2011, their fans were scum, and we were delayed getting to game and missed some of it due to traffic, heavy-handed security checks and herded in like scum, much preferred PSV or even Ajax. Feyenoord beat Hapoel Beer Sheva 6-0 on aggregate to qualify. One of my favourite trips of all was Porto, made all the better by Ross MCCormack's late equaliser that took us through to the last 16 of the CL. Beautiful city, great fans, wonderful stadium. Porto sit 3rd in the league after 3 games having just won the derby against Benfica 2-0 away. Might go to Switzerland as I havent been there with Rangers before. Dont know much about Young Boys, but they currently sit top of the league with 13 points from 5 games and beat FC Zurich 4-0 last week. They went straight into group stage.
  24. Time will tell of course but you make a very good point. It will be interesting to see if they set up this way when they play the bheasts, which is really the only comparison that matters.
