  1. Diouf has played some decent games for us, so I don't understand the "waste of space" comments. The eagerness to dismiss our players baffles me at times. :sigh:

There's really no need to be baffled, just read the post. It's certainly no more baffling that a support lionising someone who has played a handful of games, contributed one goal and not much else, and is costing solid money and considerable loss of public image. Get rid.

  2. I think he's a waste of space who has been an excuse for some fans to get unnecessarily excited about a non-existent track record and a wee bit of antics on the field. There's been far too much confusion between heat and light where Diouff is concerned and, when you stop to think about it, his actual contribution has been negligible so far. In fact, were it not balanced by the adverse over-reaction of the celtic minded around us, we would probably be hugely more disappointed than is being shown at the moment.

Dioff really IS a waster and talk about him being a 'great' player is plain nonsense. He's not great, never has been great, and never will be great. No other club with the money to re-inforce such perception has rushed to spend the money Rangers are currently spending on Diouff. He might help us between now and the end of the season but it will be more in terms of numbers than ability or effort. I just hope to hell he's history by the start of next season.

  3. I suggest the Murray selling is far more important than Whyte buying. No one with Rangers at heart will do anything but celebrate the end of Murray's awful tenure. Whether Whyte offers anything better will only be judged in years to come but it's difficult to imagine him being as bad as his bastard predecessor.

In saying that, we've had news like this before and this deal is no closer because of any of them. Believe it when Whyte shows us his share certificate.

  4. What a waste of energy? Getting so worked up about a manager who is on the brink of being irrelevant to the future of the club. What a pity this level of energy couldn't be similarly devoted to something that actually matters, such as the invisible bastard skulking in his vinyard ... you know, the one who CAN have a say on whether we continue down the toilet or start rebuilding.

There's a lot still to do this season but in the scheme of things who gives a monkeys about Smith's record in Europe? Good or bad as you choose to see it, the past is possibly the least worry for a club in our situation.

  5. I'm guessing he's been banned outright. Came on a week or so ago, posted a few things that were a tad over the top, the posts disappeared and so did he.

Stupid fellow, thought he might settle down. No loss if he wasn't prepared to.

    Thanks for the update.

  6. Why would Whyte have a deadline?

If he's interested then he's interested and it would probably suit him to wait a bit longer and get the club cheaper if we go backwards financially.

Clearly, there are no deadlines as such, only the contrived lines in the sand that pass for deadlines in the manicured world of the media. In the absence of competition for Murray's shares (don't you just wish) the only dealine that would be that which the buyer puts in front of the seller and which no posturing journalist will ever know about.

  7. Now that the mid March deadline is looming we get another story from a "respected" journalist indicating another few weeks.

It's difficult to stay positive about this takeover story as there are no facts in the open and a lot of opinion. I guess the silence from Whyte suggests he's still interested but the longer it drags on the less likely and more damaging it becomes.

On the other hand the silence could just as easily suggest there's no one there at all ... and the mid-March deadline is presumably no more credible than any of the previous deadlines that have come and gone in similar silence. The only thing that justifies any continuing interest in this deal is the looming end of the UK tax year, otherwise it looks like an ex-parrot.

  8. A piece by macgobblegiver claims we have appointed retired chief super Robin Howe to "help with bigotry problems"

I can't find this announcement anywhere else.

Can anyone confirm this or is it just the usual bollocks ?

Hope there's as much truth in this as the rest of that scrote's utterings.

  9. Your having a laugh right , just that I didn't see the thread trying to get money from Rangers fans

For some reason his name has dropped off the member list. I did send him a pm asking why he hadn't posted in something like two years but continually logged on to read what we posted. He must have decided, right enough, there wasn't much worth reading. Either that or he reckoned there just wasn't the T-shirt market he required to keep his attention.:D

  10. Yeah not quite as much, you can view a thread (a page I think?) and then are told to sign up.

So who is checking the intentions of every new Gersnet member coming through the door? There could be any number of dubious member - even Grandmaster Suck managed to slide under the door. The only forum I know that attempts to vet new members is Vanguardbears.

  11. Ask your editor who the RST are Glenn. We've been writing a column in your newspaper for the last 5 years. Still when one of Sellick's main cheerleaders criticises us we must be doing something right.

It's time that you and those like you gave it a fucking rest. The RST is a joke and has been from the outset ... populated by petty, pumped-up posers who wouldn't know how to run water down a steep hill. The more you people squeal and squirm at valid criticism, the more you make total arses of yourselves. Which is fine by me so long as you don't attach your fatuous ego trips to my club and demean it by trying to convince intelligent people that there is some point to your windbag behaviour. For fuck's sake, please stop embarrassing us with your endless fucking drivel.

Glenn Gibbons might have plenty faults as a journalist but I think you'll find an awful lot of Rangers people are in complete agreement with him when it comes to the empty drum you're trying to defend. The RST is based on a ridiculous premise that never ever stretched further than the end of your collective self-importance and has changed absolutely nothing for the better at this club. It really is time it just quietly went away for good.
