  1. This may not satisfy the argument but I've seen the arrangement before where a company has it's main board overseeing an "operating board" comprising what were referred to in an informal sense as "operating directors". Is the issue here one of language rather than the substance which is plain to see .........

Directors of The Rangers Football Club Limited

    Whyte

    Whithey

    Betts

    King

    (Greig)

    (McClelland)

  2. I think you also have to take into consideration the more anti-social society we live in as well as blaming it all on the police. Kids are not looking to punch you anymore they are more and more using knives and some even guns. Obviously stress plays a part as well. I know a few police officers who left because of the dangers and stress involved. I think you have to look at both sides of the picture.

Thankfully my contact with the police is infrequent and certainly hasn't involved punching or knives. I commented on the standard of service and ability of officers I've dealt with recently. Nothing more or less and not based on looking at anything more than my own direct experience.

  3. Which just goes to show the mentality of fans and cops has changed over the years. MF, you seem intent to blame the police 100%. Why so?
Blame? Not blaming anyone. Simply giving due recognition to the declining standards of the police service whose salaries my taxes pay for.
  4. You have to laugh/cringe at the young boy with the black tape over his mouth in the 3rd and 4th photo. Does he even know why he's doing it?

He probably has more idea why he's wearing that black tape that the average policeman has about his objectives in policing a football crowd. Sounds like you've finally crossed the line.

  5. Take the bottle off him, give him a warning not to do it again, now sit down and enjoy the game, end of story. Instead it becomes a fucking soap opera because neither police nor stewards have a clue how to take sensible decisions and are completely bound to policies and dogmatic rules.

In the course of business I've had cause to consult police on a number of occasions recently and each time found them to be immature, inflexible and utterly dependent on the rulebook. They seem to have lost all ability to make judgements or take independent decisions. Hopeless twats.

  6. I'd politely request people remain civil.

I haven't been uncivil in such a long time and you know how these OF games corrupt the fabric of Scottish life. In fact, between the mandatory wife-beating and general disorder I'm compelled to commit four times a year, a little lapse on GN is surely an indulgence even Roseanna Cunningham might have overlooked. N'est ce pas?

And where's that fekkin button? :D

  7. I for one never knew that either you or Danny ever met me. So from those few posts I had on here you know what sort of supporter I am? Neat.

Have a little spat with the "ranters" on here and you get your personality profile.

Now, like it or not, you simply ignored the point I made to Danny and went on the "rant" (if I may say so?) about the RST.

And this makes it a "ridiculous organization" that has no effect on Rangers or the media,as Danny intimated?

What sort of information do you refer too? I get my weekly if not daily updates from the RST and am hardly a prime member.

Why would I suggest that? Did I? All I said that ranting people on boards have no effect on the club, while the RST folk at least speak with club representatives and to the media, so their voice as Rangers supporters gets heard. And this communication can be found on their website too - amongst other things. Nothing more, nothing less. Obviously, some folk on here share a grand scale animosity towards that organization ... for reasons only they will fully understand. I do not intend to change their opinion.

You know, I've lost track of all the asswipes who've come on here over the years spouting the same claptrap about the RST and its magnificent work. I used to jump on their bullshit at every opportunity, now just feel sorry for people like you. I'd rather cut my nuts off than engage in debate with you but I would like at least to have the satisfaction of asking you to take your RST imaginings and fuck off elsewhere.

  8. Fuck me! What a depressing discovery, that the RST is still on the go and, even worse, is still being discussed.

For me, the RST sits alongside David Murray - something unfortunate from the past that would be better not to be part of our future. Perhaps best remembered as a complete waste of time and an opportunity lost amongst egos and idiots.

  9. You really couldnt make this shower up , their necks are so fucking shiny , they get us into this mess along with that bastard Murray , then because Whyte hasn't sorted this mess out in a few weeks , bought 10 superstars , he's the one to blame, jeez oh

There you have it, nothing else to be said. rbr straight to the essence of it, as usual. Well said.

  10. It's the second guessing that has me flummoxed. Like the Tories, Whyte has inherited one hell of a mess - all details of which will only now becoming fully clear to him, and certainly not to us. There may be things to criticise him for, but it's beyond my ken. I'm all for any steps that makes the club run more sensibly, and within more sensible parameters - and this seems to me what's happened so far, as far as my limited understanding allows. It would have been lovely to see big spend this summer, but I'd sooner see the club being here indefinitely. There may have been something disingenuous about the 5million investment, but if he includes its scope to securing long term planets for key players we're more or less there. We have a more rounded squad than last year that, under the right guidance, ought to be capable of winning the league. I'm cautiously happy with that, and still glad the old regime is out.

If we win the tax case, it will hopefully be the making of us. If we don't, hopefully we'll have to give them as little as possible.

I suppose the real bottom line with Craig Whyte is that there is only Craig Whyte. No one else, not even those on the old board who so readily criticized his arrival, was prepared to take his place.

  11. I know for a fact that you're just glad that Murray is gone and I think you'll willingly accept any alternative even if it's to the detriment of the club.

No. There were years of accumulated reason to want Murray out. Craig Whyte has almost no track record to criticise but from what I can see he's already a far better man in charge than Sir Shithead who buried the club in this fucking mess.

  12. The one thing that troubles me about the Whyte angst - justified though it seems to be - is that there seems to be a dilemma. If Whyte really didn't have the money he said he did, why did he buy the club? The only sensible answer is that, despite not having the money, he just wanted to own the club - as a fan. But, if his being a fan motivated him, and he really doesn't have any money, he would know as much as anyone it wouldn't be long before he's found it and/or drives the club down the way of Leeds, which will forever destroy not only the club he loves but his reputation.

Whatever this is, it may just be the wisest move in bad circumstances. He'll have financial advisers saying "These are the choices". I don't think anyone thought he had billions of his own money to pour into the club - is he not just trying to make it run on its own as a business?

It's impossible to second guess a situation like this without knowing a great deal of the facts but if I put myself in Craig Whyte's situation I'd also be doing everything I can to limit the funding of the club. I would make sure there was little to suggest that HMRC would ever get their hands on a significant payment from Rangers. Any funds I intended putting into the club in due course would be held back until the tax issue is finally settled. HMRC know this too of course but they can only suck what blood is actually in the stone. So far, I see nothing at all to criticise Craig Whyte for.

  13. I mean fair enough if he actually had a job in the media, but he was fired/left from whatever rag he was with and now just does a blog. What he says is not only of little importance, but it's often appallingly written.

Appallingly written? The bastard, how dare he!

For fuck sake, is this really how we assess and condemn these days? Sorry Danny but you write like a complete arse.
