I honestly don't know what to make of all this, but I'm not going to thank him just yet. I will say that further down the line once this has all played out I hope he'll be a welcome visitor at Ibrox, but we'll just have to wait and see I guess.

What does this mean? If he's stepping down as CEO with 'immediate effect' does it mean that he'll remain on the board until he's replaced or is it regarding his shareholding?

Investigation Into Green Confirmed To Stock Exchange
UCF2008 replied to chilledbear's topic in Rangers Chat
No news from the club yet to suggest otherwise. I think the SFA would be looking for more than a few questions answered if this investigation didn't go ahead. Besides, AFAIK Ahmad is still with us. -

I see Aidan Earley's brother Wulstan still has a large stake in Worthington Group - http://www.investegate.co.uk/worthington-group/rns/holding-s--in-company/201109141228332316O/ -
Possibly or it could be just one of very few slip ups. You'll notice if you look back to the couple of weeks before and after the sale of assets to Sevco the wording of statements from the Green team and D&P is very carefully avoiding specifics of which Sevco purchased the assets. Even amid claims of the assets being transferred between companies for more sinister reasons, the defence from those parties avoided saying specifically that the assets had been purchased directly by Sevco Scotland. In fact, they usually just gave the reasoning for Sevco Scotland's existence instead. Even if we were to assume that the assets were transferred post-sale, it would appear that D&P were then by their actions complicit in the coverup of the event. Taking this into account along with the fact that like you point out there is little in the way of evidence to suggest nevermind prove otherwise, it doesn't surprise me that the London Stock Exchange would have been given Sevco Scotland as the original purchasers. The question would however remain as to whether the exclusive bidder status was somehow transferred (without any mention at all) and if not then questions could still be asked of D&P's conduct.

From the STV article I posted earlier here is the club's response. The link to which has now been removed by the club: A spokesman for Rangers confirmed that there had been a transfer of assets between one newco and a second separate newco. He told STV: "For the avoidance of doubt, Sevco 5088 Limited bought the assets of the Rangers Football Club and then transferred them to Sevco Scotland Limited so that all the assets would be in the Scottish registered company that is Rangers FC."

TBK's might not be the only one's asking questions of D&P if the defence is based on the clubs assets being sold in the first instance to Sevco Scotland, a company which didn't hold preferred bidder status. Indeed on the day of the sale would D&P maintain that Sevco Scotland was preferred to a higher bid from Walter and McColl despite having no binding agreement for the purchase of assets

You're basing your argument on what D&P put in an intermin report? How about going from memory or maybe taking the time to seach this forum even? from 27/06/12 for instance - Ibrox Hived Off To Seperate Newco Rangers’ takeover consortium has hived off Ibrox and Murray Park to a separate new company. Sevco Scotland Limited has applied to the Registers of Scotland for the title deeds for the stadium and the training ground Murray Park, as well as the Albion car park, to be disposed to it. The company, whose sole director is Charles Green, is separate from the 'newco' that was due to receive the club’s assets as previously identified by administrators Duff and Phelps. According to proposals sent out to creditors owed £124m by the club, the new business entity that would hold the assets of the club was Sevco 5088 Limited, established by London law firm Field Fisher Waterhouse, which is advising Mr Green’s consortium on the takeover. Sevco Scotland Limited, which was incorporated on May 29, made applications to transfer the title deeds of the property on June 15, the day after Mr Green held a media conference at Ibrox with the consortium’s 'financial adviser', Imran Ahmad, where he announced the purchase of the club’s assets had gone ahead. The asset sale to a newco came after the proposed company voluntary arrangement (CVA) offer to creditors, funded by an £8.5m loan from Sevco, was rejected by HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC). According to the title deeds lodge with the Registry of Scotland, the floating charge transferred to previous owner Craig Whyte is still outstanding over the Murray Park training ground in Auchenhowie Road, Milngavie. The standard security to the Scottish Sports Council over the facility, created in 2002, is also still active according to the registry. Under the purchase of the club’s assets outlined by Duff and Phelps, Green’s consortium wear to put £5.5m into Rangers FC plc, before the property and other assets were transferred to the newco, Sevco 5088. The relationship between the two Sevco companies is currently unclear, while Mr Green is also listed as the sole director of another business entity called RFC 2012 Limited, which was incorporated last Thursday, June 21. http://local.stv.tv/glasgow/108240-r...eparate-newco/

Where's your evidence? I'm not Murray's biggest fan but I think if he's guilty of anything other than atrocious management it's having too big an ego to admit he had no choice in the matter of selling to Whyte. You'll notice I said 'I think'. You should try it sometime.

Who needs to intervene when you've got the mhedia?. No doubt they've been hounded for comment over the past few days.
-
Or it could just be as it would appear in that his hands were tied while LBG, D&P and the rest conspired to 'turnaround' the club's fortunes.
-
If he's actually proven to have done anything criminal. So far Murray is the one facing the least accusations out of the lot of them ...including Green.

You have to admit there's a bit of a difference between a top EPL club who won the champions league in the same season as those events and our own situation at present

How did the 11-1 voting structure manage to stay in place? What happened to the rebel 10 we've been hearing so much about for years? Was that just more press bullsh!t like the unanimous vote they were going to get here until a couple of weeks ago? The whole lot of them are a joke. If Scottish football is ruined they've only got themselves to blame for bringing this nonsense to the table in the first place

...and now Blackthorn apparently which is more of a concern. Paulo Mortarotti, MD of Shepton Mallet Cider Mill - "Blackthorn Cider does not wish to have any association with racist remarks such as this. Itâ??s an issue we take very seriously and this has been relayed to the club."

In which case Jackson would have been talking sh|te, no?

If a CEO is found guilty of fraud then I guess that might be a sackable offence. It's obvious we're not going to sack him for risky use of language now though. Just to be clear I'm not expecting the worst here, just preparing for it. It could well be that the board feels he's done nothing wrong and think an independent inquiry will be the most trusted method of proving it.
-
That's not a worst case scenario though is it? You don't need to point out any SFA rules. You know fine well they'll bend the rules and twist the facts to see us punished for any wrongdoing by Green. The one defence we've got this time round that we didn't have before with Whyte is that the board have acted. It's still no guarantee they won't be blamed though. They'd claim they acted on information they had at their disposal. If we took them to court, then we might be compensated.
-
I agree we can't carry on with them all being exposed. That's part of the point I was making. If something is revealed to the public domain which takes power away from the club and results in SFA expulsion or worse, then would you not agree it's better for the club to keep it under wraps?
-
At that point we still had a full squad and a CVA to look foward to, so no.
-
Last year Ally spoke about the transfer embargo saying that it could 'kill the club'. I think in hindsight he'd agree that was an exaggeration, but he was serious about it at the time. What he have with this situation and the truth behind it is something that possibly does have the potential to kill the club. Maybe in hindsight I'll be happy to take that back. I hope I will. If the truth actually is so harmful though, are you sure you still want it?
-
As opposed to what? They came on board because it's Rangers. Not because Green sold it to them.

Thanks for answering my question. Much appreciated. Since you appear to have a better insight into these matters, do you agree it looks as though Green and Ahmad have been suspended?
