  1. No, this is what I mean.... HMRC Statement on Rangers Football Club "A liquidation provides the best opportunity to protect taxpayers, by allowing the potential investigation and pursuit of possible claims against those responsible for the companyâ??s financial affairs in recent years. A CVA would restrict the scope of such action. Moreover the liquidation route does not prejudice the proposed sale of the club. This sale can take place either through a CVA or a liquidation. So the sale is not being undermined, it simply takes a different route. Liquidation will enable a sale of the football assets to be made to a new company, thereby ensuring that football will continue at Ibrox. It also means that the new company will be free from claims or litigation in a way which would not be achievable with a CVA. Rangers can make a fresh start."
  2. The trouble is that I think HMRC will pursue this until they win the case and I don't expect BDO to put up much of a fight.
  3. Ally's always under pressure. That's a big part of the job. I don't think there was much risk of Green sacking him. Not because Green didn't want to but because he didn't fancy the consequences of taking such an action. It all comes down to public opinion and opportunity. Green would have sacked him last Summer, but quickly realised he might then have a problem selliing season tickets. However, as soon as fans started to become restless with results and performances last season, Green did have a brief window of opportunity to hand Ally his P45. My guess is that Green was too busy engineering his own escape route out of Ibrox at the time to be complicating matters by sacking the manager.
  4. I wouldn't expect it to. I don't really care about the share price. If anything, I'd prefer to see it drop atm if it helps the club.
  5. ...plus sponsors and investors who've watched in horror at the mud slinging media circus that our boardroom had devolved into under our previous CEO and chairman.
  6. Technically you're correct about the cause of us going into admin, but then the BTC was the noose around our necks which led to Whyte taking over. The likelyhood that it was set to drag on for years with appeal and counterappeal played it's part in Whytes strategy of taking us into admin to attempt to nulify the BTC. It also had it's effect on how HMRC dealt with the club in allowing that debt to accumulate. HMRC were expecting to win. That's why they rejected the CVA.
  7. I'm not speculating. I'm voicing an opinion that I don't think Walter wanted to be Chairman. That's not based on one interview. He was reluctant to even join the board and no matter who owned the club, if Walter had been offered the chairmanship under any other circumstances I think he'd have turned it down. He's taken the role on out of necessity. It makes perfect sense at this point in time. I'm happy to have him as Chairman and I do worry about who might be chosen to replace him when the time comes.
  8. I feel very comfortable with having Walter as Chairman. Apparently it's not a position he feels comfortable in though and I think that's the issue here.
  9. He's got his faults and he does seem to have a problem with the English. I think he's probably tried too hard to make changes. He's a beacon of integrity compared to Blatter though.
  10. Walter's business brain shouldn't be an issue so long as we can trust our CEO and Finance Director are doing their jobs properly. Having a good mind for business in general doesn't necessarily correlate to the business of football anyway. What business credentials do the likes of Beckenbauer and Platini have?
  11. Perhaps the pledged £10m was burning a hole in Charlies pocket.
  12. Exactly. Thanks to both Argyriou and Naismith for your contributions on our first step of the journey back to the top last season. Good luck with the rest of your careers.
  13. I can see the point of wanting to send Gallagher out on loan. The lad needs some competitive game time. If he stays, the chances are that he'll spend most if not all of the season on the bench. It's difficult for Rangers to continue the development of keepers any other way than loaning them out when they get to Gallaghers age. There is no need for us to be signing a player of similar standard to Bell though. A pay-as-you-play deal for Gordon is nonsense. It's not the type of deal Gordon needs and it's not a good deal for us if we're for any reason forced to play him. Why not take a look at the keepers in the lower divisions. We even came up against some decent quality keepers last season in the third. Obviously they need to be available, but if we need an experienced backup then at this level they don't need to have EPL and international experience ffs.
  14. I didn't mean it wouldn't attract attention, just questioned how and by whom it would be taken advantage of, not to mention how it would be skewed in the media.
  15. Who'd be shouting loudest though?. Do you think we'd get the intended point across?
  16. It's difficult to either agree or disagree with that due to the sheer volume of lies, deceit & shit-stiring that's been going on around the club over the past few years. Also, given we are where we are despite being found not guilty of the cheating aspect you do have to question if it was THE biggest half truth. I do understand why it would be the one which caused the most offence and it no doubt played a significant part in how we've been treated. All the same, there are plenty other 'what ifs' to consider on that front.
  17. Here's the perfect example. His brother doesn't have an 'alleged' shady past. He does have a shady past. He served time for dealing in stolen goods and tax fraud. That is a fact. Not a half truth. The allegation which nobody (including myself) appears willing to elaborate on for obvious reasons which have been practically spelled out to you already is that both Easdale brothers have a shady past ...and present. If you want to call that a half-truth or inuendo fair enough, but you were indeed warned.
  18. That's a fair enough point. The only problem is that by the time it's set in stone it's usually a little bit too late to do anything about it. Assuming 'anything' could be done in the first place.
  19. You said it mate I agree. There's a time and place for it. When you've got four or five sitting in midfield with one man stranded up front on his own against a back four or five, it's not exactly the best tactic to use though is it?
  20. And yet more than half of the scaremongering innuendo has become hard fact over the past couple of years. I don't know about you, but for me that makes me less dismissive of these half-truths.
  21. They don't publish articles from a large section of the media. AFAIK the reason for this is due to a number of newspapers threatening them with legal action. They DO publish articles from all of our 'favourites' though, Britney, Funky, Irish and McGooblegiver all manage to get their regular attacks on our club promoted without fail. They also seem to have a habit of (uhm) accidentally posting articles on everything from MMPR to QPR on the Rangers feed not to mention bumping old articles on Rangers defeats. I still use it though even if it does expose me to this sort of undesirable nonsense.
  22. A lot of articles (not just the BBC) don't get a mention on NewsNow.
  23. Because otherwise (since January) he would have been free to talk to other clubs. We've been successful enough in acquiring our transfer targets that Naismith is now surplus to requirements. Seems simple enough to me. He showed a couple of flashes of potential which were largely overshadowed by reckless play when given a relatively decent opportunity last season. Good luck to him though.
  24. The lad himself apparently thinks he's a full-back according to recent quotes from him - 'Kyle can be boy in blue too'
  25. Ally can and does travel halfway round the world to take part in Q&A sessions with supporters. He handles himself well in media press conferences the majority of the time. Unlike Green did last year when he held a few local Q&A's, Ally probably won't tell the supporters everything they want to hear, but I can't see why he wouldn't be able to interact in a civil discussion with the season ticket holders. Instead we've got Mr football phone-in playing the part of our mouthpiece and Ally being made to look out of touch with our thoughts. Piss poor PR imo and Jim Traynor really must do better.
