The AGM will presumably need to have a new resolution/vote to reappoint Douglas Park as a Director of the Company.

Another great read Frankie.
I know the team has a few issues which need addressed, but personally I think one of the major factors which has caused us to stumble, go off the boil or whatever folk want to call it, is simply the international breaks literally interrupting and breaking our squad's rhythm and momentum.

Just tuned in for the first time, listened to the latest pod and really enjoyed it. Aye, there's quite a lot of banter and swearing, but it's all good. Thumbs up from me.

Thanks a million for sorting this out guys. I've been meaning to do it, but completely forgot yesterday and today because the last few weeks have been total chaos for my dad & I trying to organise & prepare their house for my mum getting out of hospital after a 15 week stay.

Why any real rangers fans would phone Clyde and talk about our club to McCullough and keevins beats me the jungles must be loving our doballs...
We don't like to hear anon' folk phoning in to these shows pretending to be Gers fans either, but it happens on a regular basis.

Good to see you back Gav, seriously!

Since it's pick on Bruno night, I'd like to ask why do you put 'lol' in every post?
Presumably because it's all funny or all just a laugh? LOL

I'm not getting into a debate about the police but what I will say is that I have absolutely zero confidence in the crown office procurator fiscal service.
Some people have absolutely zero confidence in either of them Gav, so I guess you're not alone.

Can't believe im getting pulled up for calling warbs the magic hat zappa but if it bothers you ill stop...
No, knock yourself out Bruno. I just don't get it really, so thought I'd ask you about it.
I just don't see where 'he wears a magic hat' translates to him actually physically being a magic hat.

Not for me. Each to their own I suppose.
I think we've touched on this before, but anyway.... If the legal and judicial system is still essentially based around the premise of innocent until proven guilty, should the police not somehow take that into account themselves? Fair enough, the police maybe don't have an easy job at times, but it's a job which does require a degree of something we've heard a lot about very recently, namely 'common sense'.

Well we need to stop singing FTP at away games wee so&so...
It doesn't matter whether it's home or away, a bunch of fans singing FTP or something else which might offend people who are easily offended has virtually nothing to do with the RST.

I would take Davis back in a heart beat he'd be brilliant in our midfield with the magic hats team...
I'm curious as to why you constantly refer to Mark Warburton as 'the magic hat' when he isn't personally a magic hat and the song about his supposed magic hat doesn't refer to him as a magic hat either?

If my brother was a thug/nutter/clown, going on a night out with him would be the last thing I'd do. Thugs/nutters/clowns with alcohol in them are even bigger thugs/nutters/clowns.
I did add the caveat of 'or whatever' because I have no idea if his brother is a 'thug/nutter/clown' or something else. That was essentially one of my points because I can only presume that neither you or anyone else posting on Gersnet know the full facts & story here and I certainly don't myself either.
Don't get me wrong, I can understand why you would want to be judgmental because you're a cop. It's part of your job (and maybe nature) to judge peoples' actions, but in this particular situation where you're not in a position of having to make a snap/quick judgement, would it not be prudent to give Nicky Clark the benefit of the doubt and follow the premise of 'innocent until proven guilty'?

And then you have the callers!
Hahaha, that is so true!

I didn't listen to it all mate,I never do,however some of the times I have listened in previously he seems lost with some of the facts!,he did a lot better this time,I'm just saying he should make sure he is spot on with every detail.
Aye, he does get it wrong at times from what little bits I've heard mate. I listened to all of Friday night's show from just before DJ made those comments, but when I tune in it's normally just for half an hour or so on the way home and it's not really that often, so thankfully I probably miss most of the times when the big man is talking rubbish or doesn't know what to say. It can't be easy for him on that show though because he's got a lot of drunken idiots & loony tune crackpots to deal with at times.

Won't be judging him but this definitely isn't the kind of thing a Rangers player should be getting involved in, at the very least he needs to be more careful
Again, I'm not defending him, but what should we regard as worse from a football perspective: A player on a night out somehow caught with his brother who was for some unknown reason carrying a knife or players who gamble on football matches and also allegedly take drugs?
I'm not saying we should start talking about ifs and buts and pointing fingers, although it's fair to say that the Club has defended and stood by players who knowingly put themselves in considerably worse situations than this.

He should make himself more aware of the facts as well though!
Was there something he slipped up on?

I don't know why any of us should think we're in a position to judge Nicky Clark when we don't have enough information to properly form an opinion on it.
His brother might be a thug/nutter/clown or whatever, but that wouldn't mean Nicky can't treat him like the family he is and go for a night out with him.
That said, I'm not defending the lad either and I'm not so sure Mark Warburton will look too kindly on these type of headlines about one of his players.

I caught this live on the way up the road on Friday evening and DJ was spot on with his comments. He also defended his position on the comments very well afterwards.
He knew fine well what he was saying in the first place and didn't back down later when under fire because he meant every word of it.
Well done DJ.

I don't know what all's been going on, but this seems like great news. Douglas Park seemed to me to be very a good appointment in the first place, so his return to the board is very welcome.

I'm a bit uncomfortable with the inclusion of the RFFF. It should be kept independent.
The RFFF is maybe being dragged into the equation/discussions because it's linked with the Assembly, but I don't understand why the Assembly would need to continue under any newly proposed umbrella group when being an umbrella group was the raison d'etre of the Assembly in the first place.
You'd think any technical issues (RFFF monies for example) could be overcome and a new umbrella group could just replace the Assembly.
Obviously it's a complex situation though, so I might be viewing it too simplistically.

Its the need for corroboration he proposed scrapping Zap and he was rightly condemned for it. But then again why rely on corroboratory evidence when you can just defer to "common sense"
You're right D'Art, thanks. I must have been recalling reading articles or quotes within articles discussing the possible ramifications on the presumption of innocence principle. Anyway, Lord Carloway is clearly on a different planet from most other humans.

Lord Carloway is the judge who made recommendations to the Scottish Gov' to rewrite the law and scrap the 'innocent until proven guilty' principle (aka 'presumption of innocence'), but thankfully 'common sense' prevailed on that matter.

It's not even an excuse, it's a reality. The international breaks have disrupted our momentum.
