  1. Had a right laugh at the number of Celtic fans phoning up Radio Clyde to talk about Rangers tonight when they've got a European game tomorrow. :seal:

Their European campaign is as good as over - we are the only show in town and the Tims need something, anything, to avoid having to talk about their own shambolic team and club

Rangers occupy their minds full time, more than their own club

A percentage of them are completely demented, almost like zombies in fact. :seal:

When there's some Rangers news released you can just imagine them slavering and wondering around with their arms out in front of them going 'aaarrrggghh'.

  2. So at the same time we are trying to amalgamate supporters groups (a GOOD thing) we also have supporters (presumably) opening up competing clothing lines... and by apparent plagiarism.

    Only Rangers fans.....

Hopefully plgsarmy reads this and can give us some more details because I know that she had previously been working tirelessly on posting out orders for Lion Brand shirts, but I don't know if she's still doing it or not.

  3. According to Suck on FF this is a stand alone enterprise, all monies raised will be given to RST ( or merged fans group) to buy shares in club. One point being made is that only 1% will go on tax while buying shares, whereas TheLionbrand sometimes buy tickets etc. from club that attract 20% tax.

I have not received any communication from RST and cannot access website at present. It looks like that this is not organised by RST but is a stand alone enterprise as previously stated.

Having said all that it looks like a bit of a rip off re redesigns from TheLionbrand not surprise it's upset. New designs should have been the first thing a new campaign should have had IMO.

Thanks for the info mate. :tu:

I don't understand why these things seem to always end up coming down to petty politics, but they just do unfortunately.

Maybe it's an admin error over there, but the founder (or one of them) of The Lion Brand being banned from FF maybe does raise questions when AFAIK MD was directly involved with The Lion Brand work.

  4. The instigator of TheLionbrand has just been banned from FF for pointing out the shirts are very like his and that this new enterprise has no connection with the TheLionbrand.

So what's going on with the new 'The Loyal Standard' brand anyway? I could understand folk starting up a new unofficial brand to do something different in terms of concept & design from what The Lion brand have been doing, but why stick with the red & black vertical stripes and a badge based on the lion?

  5. Updated with the rest of our 2015 fixtures........

Folks, we're always looking for volunteers to write our match previews, so if anyone fancies writing a preview for a certain match just say which one and we'll put your name down for it!

  6. By pure chance I caught most of Craig's call-in appearance live on Clyde earlier. He spoke well, articulated his points well and had reasonable answers to the questions put to him.

Unfortunately, some of his points and answers to questions came across on-air in a slightly vague, wishy-washy manner, probably because for a whole bunch of reasons he clearly had to be very careful what he was saying.

For example, he was asked about whether Rangers need to pay for any unsold merchandise (something we've been vaguely aware of for a while now), but his answer wasn't particularly clear because he focused on the fact (or is it possibility?) that it's only what the Club over orders and SD don't sell which the Club's liable for.

Is that a grey/unclear area in the Club's contract/s with Sports Direct or is it all simple and just can't be spoken about by Craig because he's not really supposed to know?

  7. Really? What about, "poor buisness practices", "corporate governance failures", "not conducting buisness affairs in an appropriate manner","unconcerned with other stakeholders".

Well,i can read between those lines thanks.

Are those phrases really new/news to us?

The phrase "Sports Direct continues to litigate with the Club in an attempt to enforce its wishes and demands" is news to me.

  8. Sports Direct continues to litigate with the Club in an attempt to enforce its wishes and demands. This seems based on the simple logic that Sports Direct can outspend the Club in legal fees and thereby deal with the Club as it pleases.

Overall, Dave King's statement is short on info and it's almost impossible to read between the lines, but there's actually quite a lot of information in just those two sentences alone.

  9. Another problem is that you can do this (video evidence, cameras, 5th officials) "only" at a certain level of the game. Say the top division in each country, at internationals etc.. You won't be able to do that at lower level though, in Scotland probably simply because of the finances involved. Which in turn may cause aggravation down there, as you would create a two-class variety of refereeing.

There's already class divides in terms of how Scottish football is officiated. You just need to look at the weekly referee & match officials appointments from the SFA to see it laid out in black and white. Here's the SPFL appointments for this weekend - Appointments Saturday 24th / Sunday 25th October 2015
